The Haunted Chicken House - Heflin, Alabama

A group of friends and I went to this haunt on 10-04-24 and it was actually amazing. Totally worth our 2 hour drive! You are definitely going to want to get the $60 pass for three attractions. I will say the “crazy train” which is the bus ride is actually pretty scary… I don’t mean like jump scare type of thing I mean like fear for your life! Totally fun though!! The hayride and haunted house was amazing as well! I 100% give this haunt 10/10!!!

Interesting roadside attraction, a pile of hearses, almost all Cadillacs but there was one Oldsmobile. Note the skeleton protruding thru the windshield and laying on the hood of one of the hearses.

This use to be a really awesome experience. The last two years (2023 and 2024) have been very disappointing. It’s definitely not worth the price. Insanely over priced for the experience. A vast majority of the “monsters” are very young kids that aren’t scary at all… a lot better experiences out there for a lot less money.

We did the hayride. No scares and more of a children/teen ride. Reviews hyped it up and we were so excited to go. Everyone was nice but wasn't anything like we expected. Not sure if we went on the wrong day or what happened because it was nothing like the video on the website unfortunately. I always say don't knock it until you try it, and we tried it but won't be back. Maybe the walk through is better.

We loved it! We did the Haunted Hay Ride. It was $15 pet person, and I definitely felt like we got our moneys worth. The ride was about 20 minutes long, stopping to enjoy each little scene. There was a good mix of clowns, Michael Myers, and just scary hillbillies. Some scenes were scary, some were fun. We liked all of it. It was too dark to take any pics on the actual ride, so these pics are mostly of the photo ops. We will definitely go back.

I’ve been coming here for years and have always loved it. Brought 10 people with me this year. But it was a horrible experience. We got yelled at and cussed at the whole time. The First bad experience was the hayride. Got cussed at and screamed at the whole time. We couldn’t even enjoy the ride because the people who worked there (who “monitored” the ride) yelled at us the whole time. And kept talking about people from the ride (before us) which I didn’t appreciate.
2nd was the crazy train with the driver screaming at everybody to stand on the “bridge” which nobody knew what that was because nobody told us and we got cussed at and screamed at. He was very rude for no reason. None of that was part of an “act” either. It was down right rude and disrespectful. They must have hired new people this year… because I’ve never been treated that way here before!

But the people in the Chicken House were cool and the concession stand people were nice. And the few people at the tshirt stand were very nice.

Fun for the whole family! Friendly staff great attractions, you gotta try the crazy train if you go! Dude can drive the wheels off that bus!

We’ve been going to the Haunted Chicken House for awhile now and we love it, it’s one of our favorites for sure. I however wish they had multiple ways to go when you get to the slide cause some people can’t move good enough to do it without hurting themselves
