This was a quick stop to take a break and grab a bite to eat at the pull-off with Bristlecone Pine info and the veteran's memorial. Great views when the mountains are not obscured by smoke.

I did not visit the campground next door, but it was visible from the parking area adjacent. It appeared to have mostly people living there full-time.

Cool little spot to stop and check out before you visit these places. It's pretty cool on some of the info they give you. Not too big and it's outdoors but it's cool.

Very cool, informative little spot. Being able to see a Sequoia that has the lower level of branches, that's over 100 years old is breathtaking. If you don't get a chance to tool around between Lone Pine and Bishop, I highly suggest you at minimum, stop here for a moment. You won't be disappointed.

Nice trails, the Visitor Center was closed. Getting kinda cold up there. The Ancient Bristle cone tree is a must see!

Beautiful hiking trails and scenery. We went in July and it was 104 degrees on the 395 in Big Pine at the 168 turn off. Up to 10,000 ft it was a cool 55 degrees, almost 50 degrees cooler. Free parking, off road trails everywhere, hiking trails, movie room, and a gorgeous log cabin type structure that housed the center.

There is a tree there that is 105 years old. There is a lot to learn at this small stop. I love that it is also a Veteran memorial area.
