Update 7/24/24:
We were back this year for another fishing trip with Captain Rob. After coming up for 26 years, this was easily the best day of fishing EVER!!! We caught 12 fish in total, including the trifecta (Salmon, Rainbow, and German Brown) in which all 3 fish were over 4 pounds.
If you want a fishing guide who will give you the best chances of catching fish on Lake Almanor, then Captain Rob is the one for you.

2023: My father-in-law and I had a great day fishing Lake Almanor with Rob. His boat and gear are set up better than any other guide we have ever gone with (including a bathroom on board) and he truly knows how to fish this lake. We caught 15 fish between the two of us (released all 15). A real professional who is focused on making sure his client's have a great experience.

We have been wanting to get out and catch some of the nice trout we have been seeing being caught at Lake Almanor, so we booked a trip with Captain Rob. We went out with him last weekend and we all had such a great time. He kept us on fish, kept the conversation going, made us all laugh and definitely made it an amazing experience for us all. We all agreed that it was the best fishing experience that we've had fishing with a guide. Captain Rob is top notch, and we went away feeling the experience being with him on his boat was worth the trip alone, but to catch the fish that we did, made it all that much more worth it. There's no question Captain Rob knows his stuff and knows how to bring fish in the boat.

If you want to have a great time with a guide, and catch some great Almanor trout, don't hesitate to book a trip with him as he is the best guide on the lake hands down. We all agreed that we'd book another trip with him again, he leaves you wanting to experience that again.

Spent the morning with Rob at Almanor Fishing Adventures and just slayed the trout! We caught and released over 20 fish, 6 massive German Browns weighing between 4.5 to 10 lbs, serval Chinook Salmon in the 1.5 to 3.5 lb. range and lots of giant rainbows up to 5 lbs. If you’re looking for great action fishing at Lake Almanor, then Rob is your guy! I would highly recommend booking a trip with Rob and Almanor Fishing Adventures. He’s super friendly, very knowledgeable about the lake fishery, he put us on the bite all morning and he has an awesome boat with excellent equipment! Couldn’t have asked for a better day making great memories with my buddy Kevin! Thanks Rob!

Captain Rob guided our family for two days this past weekend and facilitated a wonderful fishing trip. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and his boat is very clean and comfortable to ride in. He is great with kids and adults, and would highly recommend his charter fishing.

I took my son and his friend fishing today. We had an exceptional time. We hooked and landed at least 10 fish not including a sea monster that we lost. Rob is extremely knowledgeable about Lake Almanor (expert) and his boat is amazing as well has his equipment.

Definitely one of the best guided fishing experiences in my life. Captain Rob took out my best friend and his two kids and I and got us on the fish early and often. We caught and released 9 trophy 4-6 lb trout. We will definitely be making this an annual trip. Very professional and fit right in with our crew. Thanks Rob!

I highly recommend Almanor Fishing Adventures for anyone who wants a top notch fishing experience. Robert is a super knowledgeable and personable guide and his boat is comfortable and well-appointed. He went out of his way to make sure that we each caught some fish and he expertly guided me (a non-fisherperson) In reeling it in, which was exhilarating. He takes great photos of his clients with their catches! We had a blast and will definitely be back on his boat the next time we visit the lake!
