My husband and I had a great time on this tour. Plenty of super yummy food, some the highlights of the Monterey food scene. So now I know some great places to go and what is the best thing to order. Our guide was warm and approachable. She made us feel very comfortable, and shared intriguing historical tidbits throughout the tour. As well as explaining the uniqueness of each menu item we tried. We got to explore beautiful hidden gardens along our path to each meal. And we got to try a range of select dishes, from authentic french crepes, to succulent hand-made tacos, from artisan avocado toast, to delectable locally made icecream.

We highly recommend this tour! Be sure to save your appetite for this one.

I’ve been visiting Monterey for over a decade now and recently moved to the area. I learned more about the history of Monterey on this three hour tour than I had ever known before.

We had some great dishes at three local restaurants (Paluca Tratoria, Melville Tavern, and Epsilon Greek Restaurant), and visited a couple of bakeries (Alta Bakery, Paris Bakery), had ice cream at Revival, and ended our trip for wine at Puma Road at Portola Plaza.
John our host at Puma Road guided us through the history of the Monterey wine region.

Lance guided us around Custom House Plaza and up and down Alvarado Street, through a couple of local gardens and museums. Along the way he taught us about he fishing history of Monterey as well as many, many fun facts which I won’t spoil here. The tour is approximately three hours and 1.5 miles in length.

I can not recommend this tour highly enough. I can’t wait to try another food tour with this company in the future.

My wife and I chose Monterey for our honeymoon and after seeing all the positive reviews for MB Food Tours decided to give it a try. We ended up having the most amazing time with Felipe. We learned a lot about the history and had a fantastic time eating/drinking our way along as we did it. From the local product shops, Paluca, Revival ice cream, Epsilon (best baklava we have ever had), Field Work Brewing, Paluca, Melville Tavern, Puma Road, and to Comanche, the food and drink. After the tour Felipe was gracious enough to recommend some other local spots to visit during our time, a couple of which became our nightly hangout for the rest of our vacation. We highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area!

This was a wonderful family activity. The pace is comfortable and it was fun to hear historical facts and then stop for a beverage and/or a snack/entre at various restaurants that we didn't’ know about and would not have gone to. Sonya was our tour guide. She was perfect for our group, patient, caring and professional. She made sure all dietary restrictions were addressed for the 2 gluten-free members of our 8-person group. She went out of her way to provide a special treat in recognition of our 44th anniversary and my daughter’s birthday.

We loved our guide Jessica and enjoyed all of her local knowledge. We got a history tour as well as a food tour and it made it all the more enjoyable. There were generous portions, a perfect amount of walking and they were very accommodating with food sensitivities. Would do it again!

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon of Monterey style food and beverages. We had a working knowledge of the history of Monterey but were blown away by the "hidden gems" that our guide, Aubrianne, showed us. The experience was top notch from start to finish. Aubrianne greeted us with a pastry from Paris Bakery and we ended with ice cream from Revival! A "not to be missed item" were the "Curry Fries" from the Crown and Anchor. We had a blast.

We so enjoyed our food tour with Monterey Bay Food Tours. The guides were so friendly and provided a lot of information about the history of the area. The food at all of the stops was delicious and we so like supporting local businesses. We now have a list of great food choices to choose from the next time we visit the area. Treat yourself to a tour next time you are in the area.

Marty took such great care of us, answering all our questions and sharing so much history as we walked through historical downtown stopping at 5 very different, delicious and fun restaurants. We have found five new favorite places to visit each time we come back to Monterey! She even pointed out several more for us to try. Just an excellent adventure all around! Definitely recommending this food tour to all our friends. Thank you!
