Terrance is an amazing guide! First time fly fishing in California and it was so much fun and the amount of knowledge Terrance teaches you while you are out there is next to none. Patient, kind, funny, and extremely passionate about his craft and nature. Would highly recommend to everyone. Thank you, Terrance for putting us on the fish today! Will never forget this experience.

I had a trip to Montana to take my 2 boys (13 & 15) fly fishing on the Gelatin River and our flight was canceled while we were sitting in the gate waiting to board the plane in the SD Airport (thanks Alaska Airlines). Anyways, my kids were devastated as we had a great trip planned: fly fishing, rafting, downhill mountain biking, Yellowstone, ect. Well, we had to quickly change plans and ended up booking an AirBNB in Lake Arrowhead and my wife found Terrence and Deep Creek Outfitters online. I was a bit skeptical because I had never heard of fly fishing in our local mountains in SoCal. I have to say that this was a really great experience. Terrence picked us up at 7am in our AirBNB and we off roaded in his 4x4 Tacoma to get to the location. The ride was approximately 45 min each way and the off roading in itself was fun for all of us. Then, we hiked down to a creek (I won't name for Terrence sake) and there were trout all over the place. We saw a ton in the first body of water. Terrence taught us the basics of how to handle the pole, how to position our bodies, cast the fly and then we started working the creek. We would hike and even traverse through the creek to each new spot and would throw lines one at a time alternating between new fish holes. My 15 yr old caught an 11' fish on his 2nd cast. He was hooked!! First timer for fly fishing. My 13 yr old had to work a little harder as he's not patient and Terrence was great with him. He did move on to catch a trout (9" or so) and missed another one that defintely bit him. My 15 yr old caught another one and we had a great time. It was August so we were in the hottest part of the year and fished a half day and then Terrence took us to a fun swim spot with a jumping rock and he brought waters and sodas. I highly recommend this adventure and Terrence. We shoes that can get wet - I was in sandals and walked barefoot on rocks most of the day (most people would have suffered).

Terrence is a terrific guide! He helped instruct my wife in the basics while also giving me some advanced instruction. He has an impressive depth of knowledge and is a fantastic teacher. I highly recommend booking a trip with him!

This was our first time fly fishing, and with Terrence as our guide, we had a wonderful time. Terrence did a great job of teaching us the basics: how to hold and use our lines, how to cast, and how to move the fly to best attract fish. He was patient and always happy to help when we inevitably made mistakes and got our hooks caught on branches. And he is extremely knowledgeable about fly fishing and the river we fished on (the Santa Ana River), in particular.
Terrence clearly knew the area and the fish it contains. He started by inspecting the status of the insect larvae in the water to match the flies we'd be using, and then took us right to the spots where we would have the best chance to land fish. And while I probably benefited from some beginner's luck, sure enough I put my fly right where Terrence recommended and hooked a beautiful wild brown trout within my first 30 minutes on the water. All of our gear fit and worked perfectly, and Terrence made the whole process smooth and simple. Very highly recommended, I am already looking forward to next time!
