Working with Theresa was the best decision we made throughout the wedding planning process! She is very versatile and possess great skill and professionalism. Her organization, attention to detail and calming presence were very much appreciated to keep our anxieties at bay.

Theresa worked with me the month of our wedding to finalize timelines, confirm vendors, coordinate with temperamental relatives, run rehearsal and set up the day before the wedding and of course bring it all together the day of the event.

She has a gift for having her presence known and felt during the planning phase as well on the day of the wedding (things running smoothly, venue looking perfect, etc.) without being intrusive. I really appreciated her help and guidance more than she will know. It was great working with Theresa. I can’t thank her enough.

We hired Theresa back in 2019 for our wedding celebration. We had to postpone due to COVID and Theresa was so accommodating. We were finally able to have the wedding last weekend and we are so thankful for Theresa and her help. Theresa was incredibly professional and thoughtful, making sure that everything went smoothly during the event. She even went to the grocery store to get Ice when we needed more!

Theresa is great! She brought my entire vision to life! I celebrated my 50th in Palm Springs and wanted a Moroccan theme party, she delivered in every way on every level. She is professional, detail oriented, friendly, affordable, creative, the list goes and on and on and on. Theresa also works with excellent vendors, all of whom are equally gifted in their respectives fields. I highly encourage you to engage her services, you will be thrilled with your decision.

I spoke with quite a few people before making my final decision on which company to choose for my reception and wedding... I could not be happier with the end result. Theresa guided me through and helped me create an even better version of what I had in my head. She was very knowledgeable of everything including the best potential locations for both events, the bakery for the cake, and beautiful decorations that she handcrafted. I might be wrong but I feel it is hard to find someone that truly puts their heart into what they are doing as much as she did. I would highly recommend In The Event if you are looking for quality and attention to detail.

Theresa is a fantastic planner! Her communication skills are great!! She kept me totally informed throughout the whole event which makes for a stress free time. She has a flexible schedule and met all of the requirements for my event. I would highly recommend In The Event for any parties or events that you may need. Her pricing is more than reasonable and her upbeat attitude is a pleasure to work with.

Sadly, extremely unprofessional, unpunctual, and out of the loop on the big day... Though my wedding was beautiful, it was thanks to family. Here's her contract vs how she delivered: "Unlimited phone consultations and email correspondence in regards to the Wedding" She would ask me the same basic information 3-4 times (like how many tables, table cloths, who are my vendors, etc). Sometimes she would sound normal & chipper on the phone, sometimes she would talk strangely slow...? 🙁 "Review venue and vendor contracts to include payment structure" - never done, as it was not needed in my case respectfully. "Begin development of a rough draft wedding day timeline according to your direction" Gave my rough draft a thumbs up, but did not do anything to my knowledge to make events run on time. In fact, I didn't even see her during either during key events. She was wearing t-shirt and jeans while everyone was in formal attire so that was strange too. "Confirm all vendors and their arrival times as well as determining any necessities. Update the rough draft to a detailed wedding day timeline and then distribute the approved copy to the necessary parties about 1 week before the wedding" - I hired a wedding planner to do this as I am a busy medical student. Most vendors reached out to me the week leading up, and I distributed my own official schedule 3 days before the wedding. Turns out, Theresa finally messaged me that she reached out to everyone.... the day before. 🙁 This put so much unexpected stress on me! "Arrive early to the venue and assist with set up to include décor" -She did arrive early, though every family member and even groomsmen complained that she wasn't much help... "Oversee all vendors the day of the wedding per the detailed timeline" - Per guest, my caterer didn't know who Theresa was. "Coordinate all planned activities and ensure everything is on time" -did not see Theresa until nearly 9pm and it appeared obvious she didn't review things with my MC leading up... During dancing (8:50pm?), there was a misplacement of the wedding gift cards. Looking for Theresa for help, I found her parked outside the venue on the phone with a person. Did not leave her car to help find the cards 🙁 "Assisting guests as to seating during ceremony, cocktail hour and reception" - my family states she did not help at all with these things. Also, I asked her to set up pre-made hors douvres, & literally took out all the things from the fridge and set them out for her several hours before the ceremony. At the end of the night, I found hors douvres completely unused 🙁 "Assist with dessert setup" - my aunt took over this. "Provide assistance with clean up as needed throughout the day/night" - again, several family members complained she was not much help sadly. "Provide wedding day emergency kit" - never saw one. What was also sad was that I heard directly or indirectly complaints about her from ~10 of my 80 guests. Perhaps she is better with planning a wedding from the ground up, but I cannot recommend her for day-of-coordination.

It is difficult to know where to begin. We feel we have been completely ripped off & bamboozled. One-star rating is already too high. The “Theresa” in the positive reviews is not the one we received, which begs us to question the validity of those reviews. Very similar to Jake G.’s review on 6/10/2022, disappointed does not even come close to the reality of our experience. The ineptitude & level of incompetence was astonishing. She was hired for the day of the wedding. Two family members & I came to help her set up that morning. At the beginning we wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt; however, that became increasingly difficult as the day went on. In the first 4 hours she was there, she ironed a handful of round tablecloths & set up a few glasses. Table set up & placement, decorations, extensive lighting set up, decor of cake & bridal party tables, and the details she was hired to take care of were NONEXISTENT. The additional bride & groom’s family members & friends who arrived ended up doing her job up until an hour from the start of the ceremony. She had zero knowledge of the itinerary & order of events for the day, which were provided to her well in advance. She was instructed to minimally decorate the church which was only 1 mile from the reception hall with a few flower placements that were already provided and did not fulfill these duties either. We were absolutely HORRIFIED!!! She did not assist in seating guests, nor did she perform ANY of the duties required during the reception. At one point the bride gave her specific instructions to place some finger foods out for the guests, and this did not happen, as we later found the food in the refrigerator. Her appearance was disheveled: hair uncombed, attire unprofessional for a wedding, mannerisms questionable. She did not have an approachable demeanor, she lacked leadership and did not direct any events during the wedding or reception. It felt like she didn’t even care. The hired food servers were unaware that a wedding coordinator had even been hired for the day. Several of our guests pulled us aside during the reception due to her strange behavior: A guest noticed she had gone to the bathroom & stayed absent for an extended period of time during the reception. Another guest found her sitting in her car on her phone in the parking lot for a long time and had to tell her to go back to her “job.” Needless to say, it felt like a complete waste of money!! She definitely added to our stress & did not fulfill all of her contractual obligations. Brides BEWARE!!! I would HATE for this to happen to another bride on her special day. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
