I wrote a complete review and it disappeared. Not fair! I would not stop until this goes out there.
On our 1st admission...found out that they were giving my husband morphine and he was so out of it they could not wake him up...after complaining for days...he ended up at the emergency. At 2nd admission they did the same thing...we was bleeding internally and then ended up in emergency. 3rd admission at Kentfield he was trying his best to recover from his stroke. He was moving around, talking and telling stories, combing his hair and brushing his own teeth... trying to leave to go home. Then the therapist said something was wrong. He would not wake up to participate in therapy anymore. Then were giving him morphine every 4 hours and he was passed out.
I will continue at a future date. 1 star is way too much for what we encountered.

I am a coma survivor who experienced Kentfield in 2005. I was in a long term, non drug induced coma lasting from thanksgiving 2005 and emerging Valentine’s Day 2006. Accepted to Kentfield, they began my 10 year journey of all therapies culminating in an individual who nobody can imagine would have ever been in a 3 month coma. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and therapists who’ve changed my direction in life.

I wish I can do a zero star or negative. This location does not pick up the phone or even leave. I recieved a call today and picked up. I heard talking and kept saying hello but no response. I called immediately right back and asked to speak to the nursing staff.

When transfer to the nursing staff I asked to speak to the nurse over my father. She stated "Can you call back in 30 minutes." I told her, "I just revcieved a phone call and I want to speak to the nurse." She then proceed with, "Oh well they are in huddle you can call back."

I informed her with, "My dad has been there for almost 2 weeks, and every time I call the front desk or the nursing staff, there is never an answer. Since you answer now, I want to speak to the nurse."

She replied with, "Fine I will transfer you to the nurses to see if they answer"

I get transfered to the nurses station and someone picks up. I can hear a male and a female talking as I keep saying "HELLO!" But there is no response then leads to the phone being hung up on me.

For the past 10 days the only way I have recieved updates on my dad is from my Auntie who has been visiting. This is upsetting that Paul talk so highly of this place yet the customer service is not helpful.

I was even updated by family that the social worker was wondering why my father was there and asking the visitors along with proving information to those that aren't even on the contact list. This i believe is a break in HIPAA as well.

If there was any issues or concerns they could have called me back, have their phones on or be at the nurses station to pick up phone calls. I even tried other departments and no one picked up.

I will attach a picture of how long I waited on the phone one day when I was transferred to the nurses station.

I was able to drive home grab something for my kid, drive to the school, go inside to drop it off, return to my car and then still be on hold and never get an answer.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. Kentfield Hospital accepted my dad as a patient in June of 2022, claiming they had the facilities and staff to take care of my father who needed extensive care. It turned out that the nurse staff completely neglected him, my mom and I would spend hours there every day and eventually ended up having to do their job for them. My dad was once left in the hallway for over 2 and a half hours. He was paralyzed and had extreme brain damage after a tragic accident. He was soiled and agitated, many staff had walked by him and yet no one did a thing for him. If you are thinking of admitting your loved one to this facility, I very strongly recommend looking at other places that truly care for their patients because Kentfield does not.

This is the worst place to be in ever. My Mom was moved from El. Camino Hospital to this LTach for long term care. They do not have fundamental care tools; the nurses are not equipped to support a patient, do not follow instructions related to maintaining patient hygiene or turning patient every 2 hours so that they do not have bed sores, doing the required tests timely or providing medication timely, even for that keeping the family informed of the patient progress. I left multiple messages daily for the hospitalist to contact me and for a week no one did, till I came to the hospital and found my mother in a very serious condition and had to insist on talking to a doctor. Every day there is a new nurse and every day, they would ask for my contact phone number. Right now i am waiting for my Mom to be transferred to ER and there is no seriousness of timing, nothing. This experience we have had at this hospital is one of the worst in healthcare!!! There is no care in this place, do not ever move your loved one to this place.

If I could rate in negative stars, this would rate -5 ..The staff there is totally unprepared to care for patients who require both medical & rehabilitation needs. My Sister was transferred there from Kaiser, & none of the doctors or nurses were even familiar with her past medical history, even saying that they had not reviewed her file from Kaiser. They have traveling doctors on staff who don't have the time to get familiar with the patient's medical history. They only focus on the rehab part for specific issues. The staff get's extremely mad if you ask questions about patient care or what the medical treatment plan is. As my Sister's advocate, I will not back down nor apologize for asking questions. I have had to tell them more about her medical history because they have no clue. There is no one in charge that you can escalate complaints to. No oversight of the facility on care, limited medical resources. We were told that this was the next level of care, but we are seeing my sister decline & not improve. Even though we frequently visit, they still provide sub-par treatment, & can be rude because we pay attention to how things run & how my Sister is being cared for. You almost need someone to do daily visits just to hold the staff accountable. If you have another LTAC option I recommend you choose that over Kentfield. Edit as of 02/2024- so in addition to the horrible treatment and the decline in my Sister's Health, she started experiencing issues with her feeding tube which she informed me about, none of the health staff did. Their treatment plan was to keep her doped up on morphine. I was promised imporved care by the Director of Nursing, who I now compare to as a used car salesman! After several days and me raising H**l, they said they would have her transported to Marin Hospital ER for further tests. They actually LOST MY SISTER. After being picked up from Kentfield by ambulance, she never arrived at Marin Hospital. I was told by the staff there that they were waiting for her, but she never showed up. No one at Kentfield could tell me where she was.. eventually she was "FOUND". Somehow she ended up at Kaiser San Rafael. It turned out to actually be a blessing. After being in ICU there, she made tremendous progress, and is now in a Facility in Hayward where she continues to thrive & improve. Needless to say I was adamant that she not be returned to Kentfield!! Any opportunity I get, I will advocate against anyone being sent there. I have submitted formal complaints to Kaiser since they "recommended" the facility. If YOU HAVE A CHOICE, DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE. If this place is on a list of options from any hospital as next steps FIND A DIFFERENT FACILITY! It'll be like sending your Loved One to a place to DIE

My Sister was recently moved there from Kaiser for respiratory and kidney crisis. the communication between Dr & nurses is horrible. This was supposed to be the next level of care from the hospital, I have not seen any improvements in fact she has taken steps backwards from the improvements she made while at Kaiser. The doctors do not fully read the patients charts and records. The Dr rotation is so frequent you don’t know who is in charge of the patient treatment plan. If your family member is headed there you must be hands on with frequent On-site visits.

I was a patient at Kentfield for almost 3 months and I had the best experience! The Nursing staff was amazing! They were very friendly especially Jason, Gazelle, Stephanie, Mike, Danielle and Islam. The CNA'S are outstanding!! They took such good care of me (You know who you are and what you meant to my healing)❤️The other staff members were great too! They were very approachable with my needs and concerns. Charlene Anicete my MSW went beyond what I feel most people in her position would have to find my next place. To the best Physical Therapy department and especially Kelsey and Juana!! They were so instrumental in my recovery! ? And last but not least Tatiana in Occupational Therapy was equally important to my recovery. I am so thankful and appreciative for my experience!!!!
