We went sailing with Captain Gene for my birthday and probably had one of my best birthdays ever. Captain Gene and his sailboat were absolutely fantastic, not only is he a great sailor, a great human, but also very knowledgeable about the local marine life. To top it off we came across a large pod of humpback whales. I highly recommend Carrera Sailing to anyone.

This 2 hours sailing trip was family friendly with Captain Gene as our friendly and knowledgeable guide. The sailboat was cozy and you could move around. We felt safe and enjoyed every moment in the Monterey Bay. We recommend this trip for the views, the fresh air, the nature and the company. It was a unique celebration. Hope to see you again Captain!

My husband, 10 year old daughter, and I had an awesome afternoon sailing with Captain Gene. He was welcoming and started out our tour with all the appropriate safety information that helped us feel comfortable sailing the open waters our child. Captain Gene is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot about sailing, boats, lighthouses, the ocean, wildlife, and the weather. He even let us try our hands at helping with the boat. The cost was great and we would definitely recommend this charter to anyone looking for an authentic, friendly, and notical bay experience.

We had the pleasure of sailing with Captain Gene yesterday through the bay! He is very knowledgeable about the marine life, and pointed out various species as we sailed. We felt totally comfortable and enjoyed our time on his boat. Pay attention to the confirmation email he send you before the sail, it will get you directly where you need to go. We will definitely be back when we visit Monterey again!

We had such a great time with Captain Gene. Being an experienced Captain myself, I can say Gene truly knows his boat, the seas and how to provide a great experience. With his knowledge of the area and sailing, skill and friendliness you can have an excellent time on the water and see Monterey from a much better point of view. The Cap’n is really easy and enjoyable to talk to. I can guarantee you won’t find a better sailing experience in Monterey and the price is more than reasonable as well. I don’t write many reviews because I only recommend what I believe is truly top notch. I can highly recommend Carrera Sailing with confidence!
