There are a lot of stairs but they have a cart that can pick people up from the top. It's a beautiful location. The person in charge of our group was friendly and taught the inexperienced the proper way to eat dungeness crab. The meal started with a salad and then they gave each person a single cluster of crab legs. About 10 minutes later she came back around to refill the crab. You can eat all you want but have a one hour limit. My wife and I are three between us and it was delicious too. One guy ate almost three crabs on his own. They also served a piece of cheesecake, which was also very tasty.

Top notch experience. My mom and I came here during an Alaskan cruise excursion. Hayden was so friendly and nice. He was absolutely awesome!! It was the highlight of our trip. The crab was amazing!! The beer flight was awesome!!

Fantastic boat ride into this quaint and beautiful lodge. Staff are beyond friendly and the local seafood feast was prepared with care and was delicious. The views are incredible and the "tour guide" on our boat was enthusiastic and knowledgable. Beer flight is delicious!

Such a great excursion in Ketchikan. It was so much fun, with great staff that were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had an all you can eat crab lunch that was delicious. It was definitely a highlight of our Alaskan cruise

Had an awesome crab and craft beer experience as part of an excursion. Our host did an excellent job explaining each of the craft beers and providing a truly delicious dungeness crab meal.

What an awesome little hideaway! Their dungeness crab from what I understand from my group was great!! And our host was very cool too. Due to my seafood allergy they were very kind and made a grilled chicken with pesto pasta and that was wonderful. The story behind the place and the view while sharing a flight of beer and the stories of the UTV adventure we had prior was a good way to meet other people in our group. A definite do!!

AYCE crab! We went here on a shore excursion and it was exactly as advertised.

An easy 30min bus ride from the terminal takes you to the lodge. Upon arrival you walk down 78 steps to the dock and board a boat (a minivan is available to take anyone with mobility concerns).

The boat was comfortable and warm. It was easy to board for anyone with mobility concerns too. Each row had large windows that were easy to see through/open. The ride was about 20 minutes before pulling up to a crab bait station. The deck hand did a great job entertaining the group and sharing facts about crabs in an engaging way letting anyone interested in holding a crab etc.

After the boat ride you're ushered in to a dining room with a salad already set and waiting for you. The drinks are bottomless and after a short demonstration on how to break through a crab shell, the feast begins. All of us ate to our hearts content. Dessert was equally tasty (cheesecake).

The reason why I'm giving a 4 star vs 5 star review is because of the following:
1. While on the open water, you could only be on the outside of the boat with a deck hand. It was a glorious day when we went and not being permitted to be outside was disappointing. The deck hand went outside just long enough for us to snap a quick photo but not long enough to enjoy the incredible views outside.
2. The dining room carpet floor has crab shells and bits of crab on it making it impossible to put your bag down without your stuff getting crab juice all over it. Installing hooks on one of the walls would solve the issue or adding hooks to the back of the dining room chairs.
3. The dining portion was short and felt rushed. The room was also cramped b/c every seat was taken. Due to a medical emergency in our group we arrived late and I'm guessing that impacted the amount of time we had at the lodge which seemed short. Even still, the tables are close together and it felt like we were part of an assembly line - get in, eat quickly, get out with just enough time to stop at the gift shop. It was not relaxing BUT the crab was incredibly delicious.

We still had a lovely time, but it's not worth it if anyone in your group doesn't like crab.

One of the best excursions of our trip, and an absolute must-do.
You can’t come to Alaska and not eat a lot of crab, and it’s even better if you can get to see where and how they’re caught too.
Captain Rusty and our very knowledgeable onboard guide Sam took us to a distant inlet where each morning they drop their crab pods. We learnt all about how it’s done responsibly and ecologically.
Dungeness crab is also very sustainable so this a good choice of crab. And it’s so delicious and very easy to access the meat.

After our boat trip we arrived back at the Inn and were seated in the historic building for lunch - unlimited crab for a full hour!
A brief helpful demo showed us the best and easiest way to access the meat.
Drinks were provided and the crab kept coming!
For what we paid, and considering the current crab prices, we felt this was excellent value for money!
We would absolutely do this experience again in a heartbeat- absolutely 100% recommended.
