This very nice couple operates this vintage styled motel close to the boardwalk, a dispensary, and a Jack In The Box which makes for a great cannabis tourism jaunt. Be sure to book this hotel directly versus an agency, since often the website has different operating hours. Beds are clean and comfortable, and the wall mounted televisions make for great relaxation time. The accessibility in my room was great and I felt safe entering the room and showering with the sturdy handles.

Adorable and clean family-run motel. My airbnb canceled on me 2 days before my trip so I was pleased to find the Islander had a vacancy. My room was clean, quiet, and the staff was very kind and hospitable. I didn’t end up using the pool, but the location was incredibly convenient to downtown and to hiking trails outside of town. During daylight I walked to downtown, but wouldn’t recommend cutting through the park after dark. Would definitely stay again!

The room is quite spacious, with large beds. There were traces of blood on one of the sheets. The lack of a coffee maker was also disappointing. At least the most budget-friendly ones can be delivered.

We stayed here while on vacation and the room we stayed in was so comfortable. Very cozy, affordable and personable. Superb location.Excellent customer service. The owners are friendly and helpful. Definitely will come back.

Rose at the front desk was very kind when I checked in. The room was in great shape. It is an older motel but it is very clean and well maintained and I will definitely be returning whenever I come to Santa Cruz.

What a surprise. We booked thinking it might be a bit low end but it turned out to be a super cute motel with adorable spotless rooms!

Perfect distance from everything fun in Santa Cruz! Incredibly affordable, clean rooms, and wonderful management. We wanted to stay an extra night and management made that happen for us. The rooms aren’t huge, but it was perfect for two people! Will definitely be coming back.
