Haven't even got to my reservation yet, but already great customer service from Cathy at the hotel Santa Monica. Concerned about cancelling due to the fires Jan-25 but she explained everything and what to do when we have to do it. We have stayed there a few time in the past years, and we keep coming back as Hilton is a great place to stay. My hotel chain of choice. Thank-you!

We stayed in the 2 Queen Beds One Bedroom Suite during our visit, and while our experience had its positives, there were a few drawbacks worth noting.

Pros:

• Early Check-In: Being able to check in early was a nice touch and made our arrival much smoother.
• Cleanliness: The room was very clean and well-maintained.
• Staff: The staff were friendly, polite, and accommodating throughout our stay.

Cons:

• Room Size: The suite was not as spacious as expected for a one-bedroom setup.
• Location: While it was a reasonable distance from Universal Studios (as expected), the location wasn’t ideal for walking to other attractions. We relied on Uber for most of our transportation needs.
• Parking: Required valet parking was $55 per night, which felt overpriced.
• Hotel Store: The downstairs store was extremely expensive, and we wouldn’t recommend purchasing anything there.

Overall, the service and cleanliness were excellent, and the early check-in was a great convenience. While the location worked for our plans and the distance to Universal Studios was manageable, the added costs for parking and transportation, along with the smaller room size, made the overall value feel slightly less ideal.

This is our 2nd time visiting - the first was in the spring of 2022. Very nice hotel - clean - great location - 10 min walk to the santa monica pier. The staff at breakfast is awesome - housekeeping is prompt and do a great job. Shout out to Carlos Ortiz at the front desk - he is just awesome. Got us our room at check in early and acknowledged our Gold status. He had a solution to all my questions - very very helpful and professional. Also we had a rental car and did not use it much while in LA - the garage across the street is quite reasonable. If u need the car daily and multiple times a day then valet at the hotel is the best option

Contemporary rooms and great customer service are the first 2 things that come to mind about this hotel. Every staff person from front desk to room attendants greeted me with a smile which was so nice to experience. The suites are large ( think typical Embassy Suites size) and offers plenty of space for a family of 4 with the living room sleeper sofa. Rooms are nicely updated and hotel is walking distance to all points of interest in Santa Monica. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I am in the area.

Really spacious rooms. Very clean. Easy walk from the pier, restaurants and other sites. We felt comfortable walking around the neighborhood at night. The Hotel staff was attentive and made excellent recommendations for local restaurants. Asst Manager Ajay was very helpful— merry Christmas Ajay and family!

The Hilton Santa Monica is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Just a short walk from the famous Santa Monica Pier and the sandy beaches, it’s the perfect spot to explore Santa Monica and Los Angeles. The hotel itself is modern and stylish, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.

A standout feature is the friendly and attentive staff, who always greeted us warmly and were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for.

A minor drawback, however, is the valet parking fee, which is $55 per night, excluding tax. This can add up quickly and could perhaps be more budget-friendly. Still, the overall experience at the Hilton Santa Monica was wonderful, and I highly recommend it!

Our recent stay was very disappointing and left a lot to be desired. Right from the start, the AC unit in our room was loud and squeaky, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The furniture had strange pink stains, which didn’t give a clean impression.

We booked for five people, but basic essentials were lacking. There were only 2 cups for 5 people. See the problem? There was barely enough shampoo and conditioner, and the lotion bottle was empty. The bathtub also had patches of paint from a previous renovation, which looked sloppy and unappealing.

To make matters worse, the receptionist was not helpful. Despite telling them our concerns they gave us an email to write our complaints. We wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-managed hotel.

The valet was absolutely amazing and the staff were very friendly. The location was phenomenal as it was a 7 minute walk away from Santa Monica beach!

I feel like I’m in a budget motel trying to pass for a luxurious hotel. I’m .5 miles away from the beach and in a room with no balcony and one that has a view of the freeway. The bar service was slow and not attentive, although the bartender was at least nice. The TVs in the room are not smart TVs, which is absolutely shocking in 2024. It’s been years since I stayed in a hotel where I couldn’t log into any streaming service or screen share from a mobile device. The mattress is extremely worn in and saggy, it’s impossible to get comfortable in bed and makes me question how long it’s been since they’ve updated these mattresses. The shower doesn’t open from both sides so you have to reach your hand fully in and get drenched with cold water when trying to turn it on. There are no slippers or robe in the room. There’s no makeup wipes in the bathroom, which has become a staple toiletry in hotel rooms over the last 5-10 years. All of these seem like little things, but when you travel a lot for work you want to be comfortable and enjoy the hotel you’re staying in and all of it added up makes for a poor experience. I usually stay at a different hotel when traveling to Santa Monica but it was unfortunately sold out, so maybe this hotel just doesn’t fit my needs. Their website makes it appear luxurious though, so would consider that false advertising. Definitely won’t be staying here again.
