As a full-time motorhome dweller and snowbird traveler, prior to the arrival of winter. I leave my home state of South Dakota; spending my time travelling from state-to-state and city-to-city, seeking warmer temperature and sunshine which is a necessity if you are a full-time motorhome dweller like me, and your thirty-foot home does not have heat blowers to prevent your tanks and pipes from freezing.
I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at this Indian Reservation, because my GPS was simply wrong. Even after entering the entire name of the RV Park and route number. I was taken to the city of Ajo. After passing the town’s center on my left and bank on my right. Upon going through the traffic light looking for a sign directing me to the RV Park on my right. My GPS said, “You have arrived. I slammed on my brakes and pulled upon the shoulder of the road still looking to my right; only seeing a small incline road heading up a hill which I refused to take considering I am driving a 30-foot motorhome with a tow-vehicle attacked. pulled over on the left shoulder of the road, only seeing the side of the Fire Station Building on my right, and a school bus lot on my left. At this point, I called the RV Park and spoke with a friendly lady, upon describing to her where I was. She said, “You have a little distance to travel, but you aren’t that far-way.” We are in Why, AZ, you will pass two service stations. Wait, I said. “Are you located down the highway from Coyote Howl Rv Park? Yes, we are she replied. We are on the left of the highway; you will see a service station and casino. Turn in and pass the gas tanks on your left, you will see the sign to the Rv Park on your right.
The small white sign pointing to the Rv Park entrance isn’t visible until you are almost upon it. However, upon passing through the gate, there is a larger sign telling you where you are. I slowly drove in looking for the office. I saw an ambulance parked in front of a small building which I figured was probably a medical facility. Then I passed a large building on my right; later was told it was the laundry room. I was excited to see this park wasn’t crowded, and there were a large section of pull-through spaces each with its own patio and full-hookup.
I find this Rv Park to be uniquely different from all I have homestead at in the past throughout New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, and Maryland. There’s a soft breeze in the mornings until about eight o’clock. Then again in the evenings until dark. It is extremely quiet here, especially early mornings, mid-evening and throughout the night. Mountain views and wide-open walking areas are awesome. Every time I walk Echo in these wide-open spaces, I wish I was still a runner or long-distance bicyclist. But I don’t think my knee, ankle and shoulder replacements would like me in the morning, so we walk. Maybe, I will write and publish a few new books before I head back home. Anything is possible here. Safe travels fellow snowbirds.

This tribal RV park is associated with the small Desert Diamonds Tribal Casino. Both are small affairs. The RV park has water, electrical and sewer hookups, a propane refill tank and a very nice restroom/shower/laundry bldg. The RV sites have no shade. Why jct is close by and the tribal casino has fuel, ice and snack bar type food. Last year a tribal contact at the RV park said anyone could use the showers and laundry. Laundry is quarters machines. The only other full hookup RV park by Why is Coyote Howls West.

Old park. I've been here 10 months due to VA business. Couldnt get them to mow extreme weeds, pokey buffalo grass. Lots of large potholes. Old electrical system fried & fried my big power cord cuz their breaker failed. Mine worked so trlr ok. They refuse to reimburse me for new power cord, even tho at first said they would. Laundry machines been broken since I've been here. Old park but people managing are brand new & know zip about rv parks. House wifi setup in office so only rigs parked immed in front of office actually get wifi. Huge piles of gravel supposedly to fill in potholes, but piles been here since before me. Lots of hiway noise. As soon as my business is done, I'm gone and wont be back.

If this place is still open, it is definitely not where it is shown on the map (in Ajo). It was (is) down past Why by the casino.

Bathrooms were clean but lacking t.p. Didn't use the showers. Laundry worked good but could be cleaner.
Sites were clean and had plenty of space. It was very quiet.
Great place around the park to run my dogs.
Would absolutely stay there again.

This park has electric, water, dump for $25 a night. It's beautiful and quite. There is hiking/biking trails all around. There is a gas station convenience store with amini casino (not sure if casino is open). This is our second time here. It is close to Organ Pipe National Park too. You'll love it here.
