Wow! What a great way to experience Le Marche. We opted for two True Colors of Italy excursions during our stay.

The first excursion was the Geological one, where we visited Grotte di Frassassi. Truly spectacular geological features, unlike any we've experienced in the States. From there, a gorgeous mountain hike. A stop for cappuccino alongside a 16th century bridge was the icing on the cake.

The second excursion was Tivoli. The service at the hotel, which was beautiful and richly historic, was top notch. One of the most unique traveling experiences we've had. The Tivoli gardens were beautiful and likewise full of history. Our meal at Sibilla, debatably our best of our entire Italian vacation, was spectacular and hit every note. Tivoli's close proximity to Rome makes it a great way to start or end your trip.

True Colors did an exceptional job coordinating everything for us. We spent the last few days of our Italy trip in Le Marche and it was a perfect way to close it out. Fred nailed all the logistics. We were well fed, caffeinated, and comfortable at all times. Even the drives were painless.

Last month we traveled to Italy for two weeks. It was my first trip to visit the country, and our friend suggested that we make our first stop in Tivoli before we headed over to the Amalfi coast and Florence. I was hesitant at first, since I had never been to Tivoli so I went along with the rest of the travelers in my group. Looking back now I would say my favorite part of the trip was the Accommodations we stayed at in Tivoli, along with the food and restaurants Fred selected. Additionally, the kindness and generosity extended by Fred, Luca and their tour guide team was outstanding! Before we arrived, Luca helped us by making reservations at a restaurant in Sorrento for us because we don’t speak Italian. Fred took us to one of the most beautiful restaurants in Tivoli with views that I have never imagined in my lifetime! The servers, and staff at our hotel in Tivoli went out of their way to help us feel comfortable and relaxed on our vacation… they helped with our luggage- and Always asked if we needed anything! Fred’s team made our excursions extra special! The accommodations in our Suite included a small kitchen, large sleeping quarters, a large marble bathroom and well appointed items- and was extremely clean! Looking back at our two week Italian getaway, I would have to say that Tivoli was the best way to begin our trip and one of my favorite highlights to see how true Italians live! I would highly recommend True Colors of Italy, along with Fred and the rest of his team!!

I took a side excursion-20,000 years ago

True Colors of Italy arranged a side tour for me - to L’Eremo Grotta di Sant’Angelo (Grotto where the hermits lived). Hard to imagine, but this cave was inhabited 20,000 years ago! How any human could find their way up the mountain, to the caves where the river surged, is simply beyond my imagination.

Andrea was our tour guide and with passion and deep knowledge took us through the history of the grotto from prehistoric use to a place of refuge for hermits and religious worship. Andrea is a wealth of information explaining how the first settlers slept, cooked and retrieved water to the quiet life of the hermits. He wove history, politics and religion to tell the story of the grotto for thousands of years.

This tour is a true description of an ā€œunbeaten path.ā€ And how the first settlers got there with no path at all is a mystery to me. But with Fred Macaluso, the creator of True Colors of Italy, you can travel these unusual and little known pathways.

Full disclosure: Fred is my brother; Andrea I met for the first time.

You can find information to book a tour or special excursion on this website. You will find an Italy even more mysterious and beautiful than you ever imagined.

My wife and I decided to go to Italy for our anniversary and we couldn’t have made a better choice than going with True Colors of Italy to make this an unforgettable experience . We stayed at a very elegant and classy hotel in Monteprandone close to the medieval town. The following day we were taken on a tour to Acquaviva Picena, a medieval fortress. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and took their time to provide the historical context of the fortaleza. We also had to opportunity to go for a walk around the boardwalk in San Benedetto del Tronto and enjoyed a wonderful meal in one of the restaurants in the area. For those who love nature as well, the day after we went for a hike around Civitella del Tronto (not sure about the name of the area) which was a great way to escape from the city for a bit. On our last day we were taken to Ascoli Piceno, for a city tour full of medieval architecture. It was like going back in time. We know Italy is all about history but we’re glad we were able to make it beyond the traditional sightseeing in other cities of Italy. We are pleased with True Colors of Italy for their service and this wonderful experience. If you are somebody that tends to get overwhelmed with details about your trip, I think this would be a great option for you.

Bravo and cheers to Fred Macaluso of "True Colors of Italy." Fred organized and arranged such an extraordinary stay in Tivoli. From the minute we landed and were picked up, to the time we left, our trip was amazing!!!!
Fred arranged for us to stay at Residenze Gregoriane, a 16th century villa where history surrounds your every view. We were greeted with a delicious breakfast in the courtyard upon our arrival. Each morning they served us a delicious meal and were so gracious! Our every request was met by the delightful and friendly staff who work there.
Fred had also arranged for two wonderful tours...first one to Villa d'Este, complete with tour guide and driver. We were quickly taken in by the history and the beauty of the gardens. He also arranged for a breathtaking view of the Temple of Siby where we dined in the evening and were captivated by the landscape below.
Our tour of Villa Adriana was beyond our expectations when we learned about the emperor and his lifestyle. Once again, Fred and Luca outdid themselves, by arranging to have lunch overlooking the valley that was open to the public for walking tours.
True Colors of Italy made our trip to Tivoli unique and memorable. It was the perfect start to our vacation experience.
Fred answered all our questions and made fantastic recommendations for the time we spent there, in addition to the rest of our stay in Italy. He went above and beyond to see to all our needs.
Next time we go back, we'll be sure to contact Fred and have him help us plan another amazing journey through one of the most breathtaking places in the world.
