I have worked with Kia of ESTOccasions many times over the past few years. Kia and her team are creative, professional, and truly wonderful problem solvers. ESTOccasions planned one of our clients' backyard weddings with a beautiful riverfront ceremony, including an archway setup at a local park where guests were seated with views of the river. Upon leaving the ceremony, our clients arrived at their wedding reception ready to celebrate without worrying about the details. Our most recent wedding with Kia's team was at a funky AirBnB with a poolside ceremony and a tented reception. The clients' guests arrived and were offered valet parking, which is one of the perks of hiring an event planner for a backyard wedding. Guests were then escorted into the ceremony seating area and offered apple cider and water before the processional. Most impressive was that they were able to manage a food truck, ceremony beverages and programs for guests, valet parking, reception tables and tent rentals, outdoor bar setup for the reception, keep everything within the day running on a smooth timeline and even hide a surprise cake for the groom! Holding a full wedding day at an AirBnB sounds like so much fun, until you get down to the logistics. This is where ESTOccasions truly stands out - the day itself was a beautiful celebration where the focus was on the couple, their guests, and fun (versus all of the logistical worries). This team is truly the best in coordination and planning.

Kia and her team are absolutely amazing! From concept to completion, Kia was on point with logistics, decor, any questions we had, and the vibe and flow for our wedding celebration. BIG, BIG shoutout to our planner and wedding day coordinator Kia from Engaged CT. I reached out to Kia only 5 weeks before our wedding date and she helped me pull this thing together seamlessly. When we first decided to go ahead with the at-home wedding instead of our original venue (it was cancelled because of COVID) we still needed a caterer, rentals, and a decor/floor plan vision (I was lost with where to start). Kia had excellent recommendations for vendors and helped me coordinate with them. She came to our site visit with the rental company and helped me plan out the setup of the backyard. She also came to our tasting with the caterer and helped us create and decide on a menu (I was pretty lost there too). She drove to the house again with her team the night before for our ceremony rehearsal and to help with setup. Any time I had a worry or a question, she was available quickly, and was extremely helpful. Sometimes it was as simple as talking me off the ledge or giving advice, and other times she was reaching out to vendors for me when I was just too busy. On the day of my wedding, she worked tirelessly on setting up our GORGEOUS ceremony and reception. Of course, with my luck, it rained, so Kia checked in my me frequently and was ready to go with the rain plan, but also let me wait to decide until 15 minutes before, because she knew getting married outside the tent was important to me. It didn’t end up happening that way, but the ceremony setup she created under that tent was to die for. From the beginning, she was conscious of making the event as safe as possible considering COVID, but also wasn’t pushy and let me make my own choices on how I wanted to handle certain things like masks and the dance floor. (Keep in mind this was at a private residence so I can imagine this might be different at certain venues.) She made sure my parents were happy and taken care of. She made sure my husband and I ate. I was able to completely enjoy my wedding and didn’t have to worry about a single thing because I knew she was taking care of it. If I could give her a thousand stars and a million dollars I would because she absolutely deserves it, and would possibly even give a kidney for her 🤷🏼‍♀️ Would ABSOLUTELY recommend, especially if you are a “COVID bride.”

I could write this post for days but the next thank you goes Engaged Connecticut, our wedding planner. The DAY we got engaged I told Kia Martinson we had to have her as our wedding planner. I've seen her go through SO many weddings when I was the wedding photographer that I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with the most important day of my life.
First off, SO many people asked how we found our wedding venue and we have Kia to thank for that. She had us break down our needs and wants and that was the ONLY venue we even looked at because it was so perfect and so us.
I never imagined myself being bridezilla but I had those moments and Kia Martinson had ALL the patience in the world. She constantly calmed my fears, answered my questions and reminded me that she HAD THIS! It was hard to let go off my wedding brain as a photographer who is always in control of things on the day, but she reminded me to simply be a bride.
Her team constantly updated me with new ideas or finds they had for our Alice in Wonderland themed wedding- always new surprises and thoughtful touches throughout the year of planning.
The day of the wedding I was SO sick and as everyone around me tried to comfort me (family and friends who were truly awesome) it was her and her team member Devin Shea that stood with me outside, talked me through it and wouldn't you know- an hour later my fever broke! BTW Devin Shea is the type of person you just want around you'll the time so imagine how lucky I was to have her there on my wedding day. Her positive, sweet nature is contagious.
Kia puts EVERYONE and EVERYTHING before her- making for an amazing experience for anyone having a wedding. Although she is awful at one thing- taking compliments!!! So with that being said- Kia you made all my wedding dreams come true and we will be forever grateful for you <3, you were born to be a planner and we love ya!

I was working with Kia for the past week or so and finally coordinated a tour to see the property for a big wedding event. The day of the tour, Kia was a no show no answer and I had to travel over an hour to see the premises. I don’t appreciate the way it was handled. I called her and left a message and an email before heading out and I didn’t receive any feedbacks to wether the tour was canceled or rescheduled. Terrible customer service!!!!
