I got married at Lord Thompson Manor this past summer and had a 10/10 experience. Jackie, Janice, Ted, Chef Mike and Andrew are an incredible, detail oriented, kind, and organized team. From day one, they were dedicated to making sure our wedding was perfect and the end result was incredible. From stunning decor and a beautiful meal at our rehearsal dinner to the perfect ceremony flowers and dinner and after party set up, they truly thought through every detail. LTM is a unique wedding weekend experience for everyone - you won’t regret having your wedding here!

We recently had the extreme pleasure of attending a family wedding at Lord Thompson Manor. The wedding was a weekend long event that included a rehearsal dinner the night before, the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception as well as a lovely send off brunch the following morning. Being a Professional Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer, I have photographed hundreds of weddings at venues across New England, and none have compared to Lord Thompson Manor. I cannot say enough about Lord Thompson Manor. The attentiveness of the staff, as well as the personal care that Janice and her team provides, not just to the bride and groom, but to every single guest, is second to none. The venue itself is like something out of a storybook romance. It is what every bride has dreamed of, and well, just incredible! Images on their website really do not do it justice. Soft glowing candlelight everywhere, a blazing fireplace in the cozy main parlor, a grand piano, the atrium and enchanted gardens and a groom's room in the lower level complete with a private bar, billiards table and parlor. And I haven't even mentioned the food! Everything was delicious and I mean everything! Literally, from the fancy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and appetizers to the main course, desserts and Sunday brunch, every last morsel was scrumptious! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone searching for an elegant, yet cozy, classic storybook wedding that exudes romance. You will not be disappointed.

I was honored to be a bridesmaid for a dear friend during her wedding this past weekend, and I needed to post a review ASAP about the service we all experienced at Lord Thompson Manor. The thing that made this amazing place different from others was the personal care we received throughout the weekend from the team at the Cottage and Manor House. Janice was by our sides for anything and everything that was needed and knew what was helpful before a word was spoken. She's a truly compassionate, intuitive and wildly skilled manager of events and of people. Ted stayed with the groomsmen and at every turn, he was also on hand to support and to celebrate. The setting was unreal, the food was spectacular, but the people made the weekend and as a bridesmaid, this was evident to me at every turn. Thank you to every person who made the experience so lovely!

Back in 2021, we came to view Lord Thompson Manor as our first wedding venue. Afterwards, we only went to one other venue, and decided that there were no more that we wanted to go see. Lord Thompson Manor was the one for us. We loved the uniqueness of Lord Thompson Manor, because we are not ballroom people! We are thrilled with our decision and wish we could relive the weekend over and over. Everything was absolutely perfect. Everyone within the Lord Thompson Manor staff was so accommodating and beyond caring and kind. The staff truly made us feel like we were family. It was so hard to leave on that Sunday! The attention to detail was immaculate and hasn't gone unnoticed. Many friends and family members have taken the time to reach out to us and our parents letting us know how Lord Thompson Manor was the most beautiful venue and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Jackie will take your vision, and make it a reality. Ted and Janice will make you feel like family and will make sure that everyone is okay and has everything they need. Andrew will answer any and all questions you have, and takes the time to explain everything you need to know. What a spectacular venue! Thank you again so much to everyone at Lord Thompson Manor! As a Connecticut wedding photographer who usually has a lot to say, I'll keep this review of Lord Thompson Manor short and sweet. This is the wedding venue for you if what you want is an exclusive, beautiful, estate-style celebration. This property isn't a wedding factory, it's a specialized mansion venue.

There's no exaggerating how beautiful this venue is! It's stunning and quite unique. Dinner, for example, has you and your guests split up in multiple rooms rather than a single space. Getting outside is very nice here, too; there's plenty of space and outdoor furniture sort of arranged in multiple "bungalows" for groups to hang out together.

One piece of advice I have for couples considering Lord Thompson Manor is to use vendors who are organized and assertive! I'd highly recommend hiring a wedding planner and/or day-of coordinator for your wedding here, too.

I recently got married at the Lord Thompson Manor on 5/20/23, and I must say that the entire weekend was an absolute dream come true. From the moment I first came across LTM online, I knew that it was the perfect venue for my wedding. The level of organization and dedication displayed by Andrew, Jackie, Ted, and Janice truly exceeded all my expectations.

Jackie's attention to detail and design is simply amazing. She took my ideas and turned them into a reality, making my table and flower dreams come true. Her creative touch added an extra layer of magic to the entire event. Ted and Janice, on the other hand, were absolute saints. They anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves. Their proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond made everything run smoothly and effortlessly.

I would also like to express my gratitude to Angie from the cottage house. She was incredibly helpful and sweet, and all the guests at the cottage house had nothing but praise for her. The level of care and service she provided was exceptional, and it truly added to the overall experience.

Now let's talk about the food. The culinary experience at Lord Thompson Manor was nothing short of amazing. Chef Mike is a true master of his craft. He took the time to speak with us personally, ensuring that all our preferences and dietary restrictions were taken into account. The menu was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly accommodating to guests with allergies, going the extra mile to provide safe and satisfying options for everyone.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff at Lord Thompson Manor made us feel like part of their family. Their warm and attentive approach created a welcoming and stress-free environment, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment of our special weekend.

I cannot thank the team at Lord Thompson Manor enough for making our wedding weekend truly amazing. They exceeded all our expectations and brought our wedding dreams to life. If you're looking for a venue that not only delivers exceptional service but also goes above and beyond in every aspect, then I wholeheartedly recommend Lord Thompson Manor. What a spectacular place to have a wedding. Or any sort of gathering. The food was so delicious and abundant. All the small bites were excellent. The main meal was excellent as well. Beautiful outside area. 2 fireplaces plenty on seats and umbrellas. Outside bar area. And the staff was beyond friendly. Valet parking. Pool table downstairs. Beautiful place.

Where do I begin? The whole LTM team made sure my entire wedding wknd was not only stress free, but also a perfect depiction of a vision I had in my head of what my wedding would be like. To say I am thankful for this is an understatement. We spend years dreaming of our wedding, imagining what it will look like, asking for things we aren't sure are achievable. I had about 1,000 of these details in my head, and LTM did NOT miss a single mark. It was unbelievable and I am quite literally in shock one month later. From the stunning decor, to the magnificent food- the wknd was one no one will never forget. From the moment we pulled up to the manor for our 1st tour appt with Andrew, I knew we had found the venue of our dreams. Furthermore after walking in the front door, you immediately pick up an energy that I had never felt anywhere else. It was warm, cozy, familiar, and it felt like home. I wanted everyone I knew to see this spectacular hidden gem of the earth we had found. Andrew was so thorough & concise and just knows everything there is to know about how to host the perfect wedding. Then the ever so talented Jackie, the photos of her work online had my jaw on the ground, I was so excited to finally meet her. Her extensive and impressive collection of dinnerware, decor, linens, and more can give anyone a beautiful event. The cottage, which is a space you can only dream you will be lucky enough to get ready in on your wedding day- is managed by Janice, I remember talking to her on my tour about everything to expect the wknd, how the morning of getting ready would go, and heard her devotion to making her brides happy. She brought me to tears that day already knowing we would become super close and feeling relieved to know I would have her by my side from day 1. Ted, is also fantastic- his smile lights up the room. He has the voice of an angel and a heart of gold. I could never imagine the wedding planning process to be so fun seeing what some of my friends had gone through. I would talk with the team all the time, we really built a lovely friendship throughout the process. Jackie and Janice were always VERY on top of my details and plans. Whatever advice or crazy requests I had they were there to help me figure out. Before I knew it, it was 1 year into the planning process and time for our tasting! They went above and beyond we had the best day seeing our table decor for the first time which was PERFECTION! It was an exact replica of all of the inspo photos I had shared before, so unique. The tasing was the first time we met Chef Mike, but we had been talking for weeks prior about a bunch of crazy requests I had for my wedding weekend- which you wont be surprised to read were ALL executed beyond perfection once again on the weekend. This consisted of a live hand piped cannoli and Napoleon bar, a live hot pasta chafing station, an Italian inspired interactive charcuterie table, a potato latke station, a NY bagel bar, and more!!! Mike and his team absolutely killed it and ALL of my guests said it was BY FAR the best event food they had ever had. Moving into decor and florals, I loved how the manor had different vibes depending which part of the property you were in, and I wanted to capture that mysterious excitement for my guests with how I decorated each space. My inspo for the rehearsal was Positano Romance, and Jackie literally transposed the Amalfi Coast into the outdoor area of the manor. MULTIPLE guests came up to us to tell us the felt like they were in Italy, it was spectacular, quite literally amazing. The side garden felt like a fairytale to me, my Inspo for this space was Alice in Wonderland, low and behold once again the mark was hit! In the dining rooms I wanted romance and elegance, guess what? CHECK! Candles everywhere, soft florals, you could feel the love no matter which dining room you walked into. The party turned up after dinner and we danced past 12am! Brunch sunday was the perfect send off and it was hard to leave, but it was see you later, not goodbye for me and this group! We will be back!!!
