We were in the area for a wedding and had an extra day to wander around. We had never heard of Gillette Castle and it looked very interesting. What an amazing place! The castle is incredible - it is worth a trip even if you don’t live in CT. The vista’s of the CT river are beautiful and the trails easy to hike. If you can, make sure to go when the castle is open for tours.

Such a nice place. I loved coming here. It’s very vintage and I love the vibes of it. I loved coming the idea of this castle and the castle itself. I also love the trails and outside park they have. Very nice area. I totally recommend coming.

While we couldn't go inside (off season) we had a great time exploring the grounds. Absolutely gorgeous.

Beautiful park. If you want to go inside the castle you have to paid $6, children 2 to 12 is $2. I didn't go inside the castle because it was too hot today. but we are planning to go in Autumn when the weather is cooler. The hiking is intermediate or you can go on the easy trails. Dog friendly plenty parking.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. Picnic tables are available throughout the park. Free parking space available on site. Hiking trail behind the castle ☺️

Toured this unique castle and truly enjoyed it!
Tickets were easy to purchase online, but can also be purchased on site. Tours are every 15 minutes, so we didn't have trouble booking.
Tour guides are placed throughout the castle and provided additional details of William Gillette's life and intricate details of the house. They are very knowledgeable and were patient to answer all of our questions.
The visitor center has a video that's good to watch before the tour to provide a bit more insight. Don't miss the door and window locks throughout the castle -each is different!

This is one of those places that you wanna go to explore. Great craftsmanship. Especially on the wood work. You gotta drive through valleys to get there. Right roads, but worth it. You can get tickets online, or we got them when we got there. They were $6 But they was not busy when I arrived.

Absolutely loved this place. Jam packed with interesting things and so much history all in the most beautiful setting. Not to be missed. I would advise that you bring a lunch or plan to stop somewhere before or after your visit as the concessions are not open.
