My boyfriend and a female friend and I attended a seminar hosted at this hotel. I loved the seminar and truly hope they find another hotel at which to host their incredible event because this hotel, the general managers (Steve and Becky), and the sales manager (Lisa) made our stay memorable and not in a good way. When they messed up our reservation and gave us a room with one queen bed, we graciously agreed to stay in it because they said there was a pull out couch. We aren’t fussy and my friend has slept on pull out couches in many hotels that the three of us have stayed in together with no complaints. This pull out couch was “un-sleep-able” with a paper thin mattress and a metal bar protruding through it across the head and foot of the mattress. We politely asked the front desk if they could send a cot instead. The cot was a joke. It felt like something you’d find in a jail cell. Again not “sleep-able.” Instead of offering apologies or a discount, we were passed from manager to manager and then told that Lisa the sales manager could only offer us a $15 refund (on a $150 rate) which was the “facility fee.” When I asked what the facility fee included, Steve mentioned a bunch of stuff we didn’t use because we were here for a seminar, and some stuff that was only available Monday-Thursday and we had stayed Fri-Sun. What a joke! Not to mention the other reviews that mentioned the damp musty smell, the outdated rooms, carpets, and furniture are all accurate. Don’t stay here unless it’s a last resort, and make sure you don’t need a cot or pullout couch. Especially lower your expectations regarding hospitality and common sense from the management. They do not care about your experience at all.

Positive: Great friendly staff, extra large king suite with all the amenities. Bedding very comfortable, hot breakfast, best tasting hotel cookies ever, afternoon wine and cheese, free daily papers, lobby w/fireplace, pool table. On-site gym, lots of extras. Negative: Some road noise.

I have no idea what the negative reviewers are talking about. This property was charming and fine. The front desk staff, especially Stephen at check-in, was terrific. We had a little bit of a problem with what I thought was a window failing to close at the outset, but Stephen helped me close it. The breakfast was wonderful. The coffee and tea bar was great, better than most. Our room was clean and comfortable.

This review is actually for excellent service prior to our planned stay in January, 2025. ||After booking online, I learned the Farmington Inn has no elevator and was concerned that we might be assigned a room that would be undesirable considering my mobility issues. I called the inn directly and was immediately put at ease that an easily accessible room would be reserved for our stay. Further, I was advised about where to park to minimize walking distance on arrivals. ||As a first time guest, I am enthused by my first Farmington Inn experience.

Positive: The rooms, the atmosphere, the staff, the Inn is outstanding in every way. They should have special deals for extended stays and for booking in advance, because I would definitely be taking advantage of both! My favorite hotel currently in operation. Negative: Checking out, because I never want to leave!

I was apprehensive about staying here after reading reviews, but I’m so glad I didn’t let them deter me. While the old-room smell is intense (sticking to your clothes intense) and the street noise can be a bit harsh (lots of ambulances), this place is really nice. The breakfast is yummy (waffle maker and other regulars that you get in a big hotel continental breakfast) and the aesthetic is adorable if you love history. I do wish the rooms could smell as good as the lobby so my clothes didn’t smell like an old lady, but maybe they will fix it in the future. The proximity to an amazing ristorante italiano is a huge selling point to me. I highly recommend this place!

Side note, there was a post about a Guy breaking into a room… three door is the typical hotel key card lock and there is a latch lock and deadbolt also on the interior. The windows lock and are not easy to open (at least mine isn’t) so I don’t understand how that could have happened. I also used a chair to block the door, but I do that everywhere I go.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were a nice treat. We stayed here and attended a 4 day course at the Inn in August 2024. We had two rooms and both were damp and smelled musty. When we came home all of our clothes and luggage smelled like the rooms. Attention Farmington Inn management, please fix the dampness problem.

Positive: Location to where I was visiting. Surroundings were nice. Negative: The hotel had a nice vibe to it but the breakfast offerings were all sub par down to the plastic silverware, bowls and plates. I get that it's expensive to offer breakfast but a more modest offering less but of a higher quality would be better.
