Ultimate Adventure at Area 53!

Area 53 is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for an action-packed experience! From the moment we walked in, the energy was high, and the variety of activities kept us entertained for hours. The laser tag arena was intense and immersive, with cool obstacles that made it feel like a real battleground. The obstacle course and trampoline park added to the fun, making it a perfect spot for both kids and adults.

The staff was friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and safe experience. Whether you’re going with friends, family, or even on a date, Area 53 is the perfect place for some high-energy fun. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something different in NYC!

Fun place for kids. We went on a Saturday morning around 10am. We were able to buy tickets on Groupon to save money. It was no line and not packed in the morning. Perfect time to go. We did the 3 hour pass which was enough time for the kids to play. I recommend getting tickets in advance. The zip lining was fun. They enjoyed the ball pit and rock climbing.
We didn't do any paintballing. Facility seemed clean. Arcade is extra and the kids enjoyed the games.
Although we brought our own...Overpriced water!!!! $6 for a water bottle, ridiculous! They do have food but we didn't buy any. Overall a really fun place for kids. I do recommend.

Activities are decent. Staff were cool. Building is freezing!!!! Even employees have on coats and hats. Don’t come here if it’s cold outside, it will feel the same inside. See photos of customers with coats and hats on.

The place is great for group outings.
We all had a great time.
The reason I went with 4 stars is because they didn’t inform us that the cook wasn’t coming in that day which left us scrambling to figure out a different food option.
Otherwise everything was great!

If we lived in a Bizarro world, I’d give this place a 5-star rating because my kids and I couldn’t stop laughing at how bad it was.

First of all, parking feels like navigating a war zone in an industrial park—chaotic and unorganized. Inside, the place was overcrowded and unbearably loud, with about half of the arcade machines out of order.

The prize redemption area was the most disappointing part. The shelves were practically bare, resembling a store from a failed system—definitely not worth the effort of collecting points.

What makes it worse is how typical this is of Brooklyn. So many places get hyped up, but they rarely deliver. This spot is no exception. For the price they charge, this place is absolutely not worth it. Sadly, since there aren’t many indoor spots like this around, it will still attract visitors like it did me—but only once, because I won’t be going back.

The tanooki Mario picture summarizes it best if you can zoom into it.

Went there for paintball with kids. Paid for 3 hour slot that ended up less then 2 hours of total play time. We finished orientation at 11:40 and finished the last of 3 games at 1:40. There are also breaks in the middle. Feel like promise of 3 hours is a bit of a lie. When we went the competition was lacking, that could be 11am slot. The kids have parties there so sometimes you will have limited talent. The field was nicely set up but very slippery. The equipment worked. They provide a marker(gun) and a mask plus 200 rounds of ammunition you will need at least another 500 rounds if you are good in rationing. I didn’t enjoy the wait and promise of 3 hours of game time. The food and drinks are rip off too, $5 bottle of Poland spring!!. Don’t use vending machines as credit cards don’t work while you are there but some reason still charged my credit card without dispensing the water. Also doesn’t give change when you insert $3 for $2.50 water bottle (What a deal). The girls by front desk were very helpful and accommodating with all besides vending machines. They claim preorder is cheaper but there were no savings between buying ahead and while in person.

I can say this place is great for kids. Adults can participate, but it's really for the youngsters. THE ADULTS DONOT HAVE TO PAY If you're not participating, it'll be a waste of money ,cool ambiance, great for BIRTHDAY PARTIES .YOU also have to pay separately for the Arcade and Paintball shooting ,Ps. They have another location just like this but for ADULTS with a bar Check it out

An honest review !
Went for a super deluxe room party. Room was big , there was a heater and a radio ( the entire area 53 is really cold inside, come dressed up warm ). Had pamela as a host. She was great, she provides her number and you can text her every time you need something for the room. Very attentive and kind. Never gave us a ā€œnoā€ as an answer in anything.
As for the actual place this is why i cannot give it 5 stars. Pamela is the only reason i even added a second star. Its a huge space with barely no activities. Its not one of these places you walk in and say ā€œwowwā€ . Arcade is very small . I only saw like 5-6 arcade machines in second floor. I thought it would be a whole section of arcade games . Theres a few electronic games on the first floor but nothing too crazy. Kids liked the place at first but then after an hour to 1 in a half hour they were tired of doing the same thing back to back because as i said, theres not much to do. I feel like a smaller child would enjoy 8 or below . Over heard a few adults/ older teens saying the same thing and trying to find something different to do and sounded like they were over it.
Ball pit is very dangerous . I saw bigger kids stepping over the little ones who were falling deep into the pit . You wouldnt even tell theres a child deep in the pit . I had to yell out to one kid who was literally stepping on a kid that was below all the balls sinking in. No ones really there watching them. Make sure you are there watching your child.
Rock climbing is cool the first 2 times but then as you keep going back , you find it boring .
Based on what the kids told me , the skyrail is pretty basic . Nothing special or different from any others.
Zip line seems fun 1-2 times and then its not something you go back to often .
I noticed the roller skating was where most of the time was enjoyed for the kids . But then again.. they got bored of it. Saw many kids sitting down after a while.
The slides would be more fun for the younger kids and toddlers . Not for teens or older.
Battle beam is fun for the moment .
Keep in mind this is coming from most of the kids who attended .
On the adult side its Not worth the money spent at all. Spent over $1000 and really felt it was a waste. Everyone told us that places was not worth spending that and looked at us crazy . (We are parents that dont care the amount spent as long as our child enjoys, and our child or friends were not happy at the end of the night)
The bigger kids said they wouldnt want to come back. The toddlers liked it .
Its more of a walk-in place , enjoy for an hour the most and leave. Not for big parties. You dont get your moneys worth.
Pizza was 6/10 not bad but not the best.
I saw a few workers on the floor level, nothing good or bad to say. They were just there…
This places needs more things , less climbing activities . I saw a rock climbing wall and 2 short stand up fake rocks that i saw everyone do it easily , and 1 that were balls where you climb on .
I came for the kids not for me , and the kids were unhappy at the end . Usually kids dont want to leave these ā€œfun placesā€. But , in this place they asked plenty of times ā€œwhen are we leavingā€.
Again it would be cool as a walk-in day for an hour - hour in a half . You can do all activities within an hour the least.
