Was a last minute booking on a Friday night and worked great for us during our trip to Meadview! Super clean rooms AC and comfortable bed. Couldn't ask much more for a one night stay.

we reserved this room in advance for a planned stay. when we arrived, we had already traveled 6 hours, there was a heatwave going on at the time with extreme temperatures and heat warnings, and the temperature was 112 when we arrived at 1pm. we were told that check-in was at 3pm, and we would have to wait until then to enter the room. we went to a nearby gas station to use the restroom, then drove around the "downtown" area of meadview which consisted of about 6 city blocks. since we were traveling with our dog, we found no place open that we could go inside to sit and wait, so we went back to the motel where we were again told absolutely no check in until 3pm. we had to wait in the parking lot in our vehicle in the heat for nearly 2 hours! when we finally got in to the room, the temperature inside the room was 95 degrees. we turned on the air conditioning, but with the heat outside, it struggled to cool it down inside and it was still 79 degrees in the room when we went to bed about midnight and had only just reached 76 degrees when we got up in the morning. while I understand that the heatwave was not their fault, I would have expected them to at least turn on the air conditioning! the $200 we paid for the room + pet fee was way overpriced. as far as the room, it was not terrible, the beds were comfortable, and the sheets and towels were clean. the rest of the room was not very clean, there was food stuck in the kitchen area sink drain, the fridge had not been wiped out, there was a large wad of hair on the shower floor, and pieces of a broken beer bottle under the edge of the bed. we did leave a tip for the housekeeper, but judging from the dust in the drawer we left it in, it is doubtful that she found it.

So, I know it's a motel not a hotel, but that means it really is too expensive for what you get.

Pros:
Bed was clean and comfortable. Microwave and refrigerator worked well and were clean.
HVAC worked.
Nice view of mountain.

Cons:
No one is at the front desk so you have to wait after pressing Ring doorbell for them to drive over.
Bathroom was not clean and the shower water temperature was cold.
TV was tiny.
General disrepair: Coffeemaker did not work properly. Dirty shelf over kitchen-style sink hanging by a couple of screws. Table taken apart with broken legs kept in closet that had no hangers. Bedside lamp turned on but wouldn't turn off (had to unplug it).

P.S. There is no lake nearby.

Overall, fine place. We did have some issues, though they really weren't that big a deal. Everyone was very nice.

We arrived a bit after 6 and had to wait maybe 10 minutes after pressing the ring doorbell for anyone to come. I think we just got unlucky with both employees being busy. But then our room hadn't been cleaned yet, so we just went straight for dinner at the restaurant next door. When we got back, the bed was made, but the floors were very dirty (like you needed to wear shoes or socks or you'd feel little bits of stuff on your feet after a few steps). The shower was out of body wash and hot water only lasted about 5 minutes, though it remained a little warm so could still shower without significant discomfort or anything.

So overall, certainly works, but it was just missing some of the expected minor comforts of staying in a motel (compared to a hostel or camping).

Nice little place. Agree with others that the setting might be a little off-putting, but fear not. Quiet, pleasant, and clean. The fixtures and amenities inside are up-to-date, in great condition, and pleasant. It IS small, but uses the space quite well. Cramped for a family of 5, but I was impressed with the use of space. Also loved that the shower has a fold down bench. Beds and pillows were quite comfortable.

Do not forget that it is a Motel, once this point is remembered, I can tell you that the registration was very fast, by a very kind lady, at the time of registration there are several printed notices, indicating among other things: the WiFi , the very basic products of the store (snack), as well as the rules of permanence, at the end of the registration they gave me the key (which you have to deposit in a mailbox at the end of your stay). There were two small inconveniences which, if they were detected in time by us, I'm sure they would be corrected immediately. 1. there was no toilet paper, 2. there was a coffee maker inside the room with 2 servings of coffee, but there was no bottled water or glasses, by the time we realized the reception was already closed and 3. when we used the oven microwave to reheat some burritos, there was a kind of blackout, the power went out, leaving only the air conditioning working, unfortunately as it was very early (the next day), there was no one to help us at the reception, but I repeat, I'm I am very sure that there would be staff available from the motel, this would have been solved immediately. Now, for everything else, it is more than excellent, the bathrooms are clean, the rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable, the air conditioning and heating work perfectly. It has WiFi, cable TV, there is also a menu of nearby shops which can deliver to your room between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. m. to 8 p.m. m. If you go to the great canyon, it is a good option to rest and be one of the first to reach it.

We chose this hotel as we wanted to get up to the Skywalk early.||It's a pretty small, low key locality.||The rooms are non smoking but you can definitely tell they used to be otherwise. The room had a stale cigarette smell, even though the flooring has been replaced we believe the smell is stained in the walls.||It's more of a place to stay during fishing season than for tourists. ||The beds were quite comfortable. The windows opened so that helped with getting some airflow into the room.

This morning was fantastic. The rooms were clean and recently updated. The shower was tall and had good pressure. AC was on when we got into the room. A little remote but the drive was nice and it was a breathtaking view at sunset.
