We were visiting the area after attending an event at a nearby sunflower field. There’s plenty of free parking and other stores nearby to check out (and walk off all of the food you eat).
Everything we ordered was delicious and true to soul food freshness and seasoning. There is plenty of seating in a clean spacious dining room. I appreciate how the space is taken care of.
Danni (Danielle) is such a warm, personable woman who enhanced the already positive experience. Everyone we encountered was “down home” kind which is encouragement to return in the future. Thank you.

The food and service was great. I had chicken straps and mac and cheese. The banana pudding was delicious. The prices were high, but the food is fresh.

On a side note, the music is way too loud.

This is a 5 star spot for me. They are very humble and very nice people. I asked "how's the banana pudding"? They said it's pretty good, mannn it was the best I've ever had.
I'm from MA but anytime I pass through I stop in. Everything is cooked to order, so yeah expect a little wait. Just like all other good things, it takes time. Try everything, especially if there's a dish that you like in particular, if they make it, I'm sure you'll love it.

Ordered the catfish dinner and macaroni and cheese with collard greens, cabbage and candied yams...Food was on point...would have liked two fillets as an option for the price.

Music a bit loud during ordering and distracting but it was a good playlist.

Ordered the fried catfish basket. It came with French fries and another side. I chose mac and cheese. My order did not disappoint. It was a good portion and the catfish was fried to perfection. I highly recommend you stop on down and give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

My first visit will keep me returning back. I had many questions as my diet is pescatarian and I was provided all of the answers I needed. Everyone was pleasant. I ordered fried Whiting with Mac & cheese, cabbage & cornbread. My,my,my that fish was so delicious and seasoned perfect. The rest of the meal was just as tasty. I have referred others because I believe we should support our young people, an establishment that has great customer service with the yummiest foods! Thank you

This is my absolute favorite soul food place in CT! The service is comforting and the owner is the most sweetest and friendliest person you will meet! The cashier always makes sure I’m more than satisfied with my food with no hesitation! And she always had a cheerful energy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! My favorite is the fried fish🙌🏾
