What a wonderful experience we had at the Whaler's Inn. The front desk staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They were friendly and accommodating. Especially Brian and Becky! The rooms were clean and what you would expect from an inn of this kind. Close to the Main Street and walking distance to it all. I will look forward to a return visit. Dinner at the Shipwright's Daughter while you are here is a must. Best meal I have had in a long time!

What a charming little place! This typical New England style hotel with it's quaint rooms was a favorite on my recent trip. Location was perfect, right in the heart of Mystic, just steps from the river and the iconic bridge. My room might have not been huge, but it featured everything you'd expect. Parking right outside on the hotel's parking lot was very convenient. Breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was great (try the avocado toast!) and the coffee from the Marzocco mod bar machine was fabulous. Not sure if I will be back in this part of the US any time soon but the Whaler's Inn is definitely worth a detour.

I stayed at The Whaler's Inn for a weekend getaway and was happy with the experience overall. However, the lack of soundproofing was noticeable, as I could hear my neighbors and hallway conversations quite clearly. The TV in the room worked well, but the channel options were limited.||||The hotel’s best feature was its rooftop terrace, which offered lovely views of the city and a relaxing spot to unwind in the evening. Breakfast was fairly standard, but everything was fresh and replenished frequently.||||If you’re not too picky about the finer details, this hotel delivers a comfortable stay at a fair price. I’d recommend it to friends looking for a budget-friendly option.

Absolutely fantastic. The excellent location is only exceeded by one of the most incredible front desk people I have even encountered on our travels. Collette was so welcoming and friendly. She made us feel at home. Each night they had fresh chocolate chip cookies in the lobby that were great. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Its absolutely a great place to stay and I highly recommend staying there if you have the good fortune to visit Mystic, CT.

We loved our stay in this hotel! It is close to all the the shops and good, so the location is perfect! Our room was very cozy and extremely clean. The bed was comfortable. The front desk staff were all very helpful and my husband enjoyed that he could pop down for coffee every AM. The hotel is well decorated throughout, so aesthetically it is an A+!

A Deeply Disappointing Stay: Poor Environment and Service

My recent stay at this accommodation was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a less-than-desirable environment that fell far below my expectations. The surroundings were unkempt, and the overall atmosphere lacked the comfort and cleanliness that one should rightfully expect from a place of rest and relaxation.

The service, too, left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed indifferent to my needs and concerns, offering little in terms of assistance or willingness to improve my stay. Their lack of attention to detail and responsiveness only exacerbated the already suboptimal conditions.

In conclusion, my experience at this establishment was far from satisfactory. The combination of a poor environment and subpar service made for an unpleasant and memorable stay—but not in a good way. I would caution others to think twice before choosing this place for their own lodging needs.

The hotel was a complete disappointment. The staff had a terrible attitude — rude and dismissive. They showed no intention of resolving any issues I raised. The room was uncomfortable, and due to the noise and lack of assistance, getting a good night's rest was impossible. Instead of relaxation, I ended up frustrated and upset. The service was far below acceptable standards. Staying here feels like dealing with a constant headache rather than a relaxing experience. I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort and quality service. Save yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere!

This is a very nice hotel with a great location smack in the middle of downtown Mystic, CT; close to the seaport, village and aquarium. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and the room was quiet, despite its downtown location. The staff were knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. When they learned it was our anniversary, they brought chocolates and Prosecco to our room, which was a very nice touch! We had trouble getting our television to work, and they came right over to assist. We would definitely recommend, and hope to be back soon. Mystic is a gem, and the Whaler’s Inn is a great home base while you’re in town.
