Robin at Adventures Within Reach put together a great 8 night safari in Botswana for my wife and I and one of my brother and sister in laws. 4th safari for us and best one yet and 1st for our family members. Stayed at 3 different camps and all were very different in terrain and rooms and would recommend all of them.

We just came back from our Tanzania trip organized by Adventure Within Reach. We successfully climbed the Kilimanjaro followed by a nice safari. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were well taken care of by the AWR team on the ground. Together we prepared our travel plans with Robin from AWR. We just returned from Morocco, which was our second trip with AWR. It was less than great. Our itinerary showed we would have a “Tour Leader” for our whole trip of twelve days, which ended up being a driver—meaning we didn’t have a guide for two of the cities on our itinerary (when I emailed AWR, I was told we didn’t really need a guide for those places). We did have guides for the last several cities. We were most looking forward to the Sahara, so after a full days drive we arrived to find out our camel ride through the desert was on four camels tethered together like a carnival pony ride. Then it appeared our “luxury tented camp”had overbooked and they stuck us in an old, smelly tent behind the main camp. Luckily our driver contacted the owner and we were eventually relocated. Later in our trip we arrived at an older that had trash everywhere—we opted not to stay there (I emailed pictures to AWR and the response was they were “sorry I didn’t like the hotel”.)

The upshot was we were given the most touristy itinerary with way too much time spent driving —and a lot of it was geared toward us spending money (including multiple rug presentations, trips to markets, etc.). We travel a lot so I understand there is always some of this, but it was ridiculous.

I know AWR teamed with a Moroccan tour company, so a lot of our disappointments fell on that company (our driver was great), but we likely won’t travel with AWR again.

We had organised our W trek with AWR in Jan’24. It was a fantastic trip and trek, and AWR did a fabulous job taking care of all the arrangements and bookings. We loved each and every stay, dining, packed lunches and people we met on the trek. Can highly recommend the team and their service! Cheers! 🙂

Amazing trip to Chile and Patagonia. Ecocamp and the W trek were definitely a bucket list. Incredible accommodations, food, and guides. The transportation arrangements were excellent and we felt taken care of every step of the way. Thanks, AWR, we will definitely book with you again!

We normally make our own arrangements for overseas travels but I was overwhelmed trying to do so for Vietnam and Cambodia. AWR did a great job at arranging our tours and setting us up with local guides and drivers. It was the two of us, the guide, and the driver. We could customize things to our level of fitness, our food likes and dislikes, the starting times, etc. They were incredibly flexible. Everyone spoke excellent English (except the drivers). The hotel accommodations were fabulous across the board! I thought it was a reasonable value for the services they provide. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Always professional and well informed their staff have helped me and my friends experience the mystical country of Myanmar along with a balloon ride over the plains of Bagan, Kathmandu Nepal and trek to Everest Base Camp, trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and its sister city Choquequirao and a climb to the top of Kilimanjaro with a safari in the Serengeti.
