This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I ordered a sausage sandwich and a pepperoni pizza. The sandwich was excellent, great flavor, and beautifully done. The pizza was very good, a nice crust and tasty sauce. And the two people working were like icing on the cake. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. This was a wonderful experience. On a scale from 0-10, I would rate this 9.0.

WOW! This is what I remember great pizza tasting like when I was young. I’ve looked high and low for a simply delish cheese pizza that had the right balance. On top of that the owner was kind and had a great family history of pizza. Great staff, affordable prices, and just plain good ole pizza!!! I’m from out of state and came to town for the train. So glad I brought the family here. Thank you for bringing me so much food joy. If I lived in this state I would be a regular here without a doubt!

A gem in this pretty town! Ordered white clam pizza and cheese pizza. Pizza's crust was thin and fragrant. Both pizzas were fantastic. Cheese pizza was not too salty and tasted just perfect. White clam pizza was just so good too. Staff were also friendly and setting was very casual. Hope to be back!

This little place is tucked away on a little square right along Main Street. They serve made to order pizzas and sandwiches on handmade pizza-dough bread. Beverages are cooler kept bottles and cans with a wide variety of flavors in some brands i hadn't seen before.

There is also a selection of sauces, spices, and exotic canned food products for purchase that looked awesome.

The restroom is not built for comfort. It is not ADA friendly. It is a little larger than a standard stall and has a narrow door. It was well maintained.

While we were there, some of the local residents stopped in to pick up to-go pies, and we're greeted warmly by the cheerful mom and pop staff.

I really enjoyed the food and friendliness here.

Better than New Haven pizza! Scrumptious crust, sauce and toppings. Such a friendly owner and quaint, relaxing environment in Essex. Can’t wait to return. Best pizza in CT by far!

Five stars does not do this justice
So I have been to places all over the world that sell pizza from the heart of Connecticut New Haven, New York City, New Jersey Philadelphia Chicago. I’ve been to them all and there’s one thing that cannot buy experience. Chuck is one of the top elite chefs that can make a pizza thin crispy cheesy flavorful Beautiful crust and hits a 10 out of 10 on a scale there’s nothing else
This is the most hidden That the world has not known yet, but this is the best

Great thin crust pizza ! Will definitely be coming here again soon. The crust is crispy and delicious. Great customer service too! I had my phone out to take these pictures and accidentally left my phone outside on the picnic table. I felt very lucky when a nice guy answered when I called my number and said they found my phone. They even put it on a charger. Thank you very much!!

I'm not trying to make this a negative review, but sadly the pizza is just not good. If you're a Dave Portnoy fan, he would not like it here cause it's "flop city". The workers were really nice and friendly, pizza was ready on time, and the crust itself was amazing. Sadly though the middle of the pizza was just grease and soggy. They don't use the cuppy pepperoni like pepes does. The price at $23 a tad steep,but it is essex and it's a true large. If you do go definitely ask for it well done.
