I recently spent 3 weeks at Lichfield woods after knee surgery. I think the staff including the aides and the nurses were the very best I know. I love you all. A special shout out to Ashlynn who works evenings. Hands down the best. I was on Wintergreen. Pt was excellent. Our concerns were listened too and quickly addressed. The food was sparse and not good. That is the only thing I had an issue with. Everything else was top notch. To address Ashlynn again. I saw her sit holding the hand of a dying resident comforting her while she was in pain and so scared. She spent a lot of time with her. She needs a raise. The residents are lucky to have her.

I've been at Litchfield Woods for several months now. We have an ambassador named Genny who is very kind and helpful. She has a great sense of humor and always makes us laugh. As they say, laughter is the best medicine and she can be hysterical. Overall my stay here has been pleasant.

Staff and rehab are good. Social workers are the best. Food is brought in from a middleman food provider and is very low grade food. MENU is just a front. They serve cold, processed foods that most of the time is not what is on schedule. My heart goes out to the permanent patients.

I think that the resident ambassador program is a very good program. Genny is very kind, compassionate, helpful and checks in on me even when my call light isn't on. She is always willing to help and has an excellent sense of humor. I'm happy that we have the resident ambassador program here. I'm very content being at Litchfield woods and am happy that I have Genny as my ambassador. I can't think of anyone better than Genny to represent the resident ambassador program.

I have been going to Litchfield Woods with my Therapy dogs for years and I remain impressed with their caregivers and staff. I get to see a great many of the patients throughout my visits and everyone is treated respectfully and with care.
I'm so impressed that everyone is called by name instead of honey or dear.... There are times during my visits when a patient needs special attention and it's given with loving care.
Five stars isn't enough !

Spoke with nurse, Marne, today 6/26/24 and she was most informative and helpful. My sister will receive a menu daily and have a humidifier added to her oxygen cannula. Awesome!

I have lived at Litchfield Woods for almost 2 years now. Most of the staff here are wonderful and hardworking. Our Resident Ambassador, Genny , is a Peach! She always checks in on us and asks if we need anything. Genny spends time with us and really cares about how we’re doing and if she can help us in any way.

If I can give half a star only one nurse who was absolutely a delight though was Alveria. I had a multilevel spinal fusion done at Uconn I transferred here because I did here great things, soon as I got here it was bad! The Rehab that's on the 1st floor my insurance wouldn't cover! Trust me I was fighting my insurance, so I ended up on the 2nd floor which is a whole other world, I come from a long line of Nurses and Military People so when I heard these nurses who for some odd reason talk in the hall way about the people they are tending to was absolutely sickening and disgusting! Talking about how they don't get paid enough for this, One said oh I love you Girls ( her workers) but I am not staying longer, oh the best one a worker from the kitchens doing rounds made small talk with a nurse and he said the whole kids in kitchen staff called off and she said oh no what are the people supposed to eat? His Response was I don't care I leave at 3pm! Now I know some are these people are old and have demintia but they still have feelings and can Hear You! They live on that floor and my roommate told me 2 years there and it's the most horrible place ever. Now my Personal Experience soon as I came in here's your bed, they never periodically come check in on you unless you hit the call button, I did have help for a night going to the bathroom then in the A.M. I hit the call button the woman looks at me like I have 3 heads and says we don't take you to the bathroom in the morning it's the bed pan... Now they said infront of my boyfriend and I pain medication will be 4 hours for oxy and 6 hours for gabapatin, 1st night over an hour late and my roommate went to remind her about the I heard her from the hall way " I AM ONLY ONE PERSON, WAIT" then a minute later she comes in all smiles and says I'm sorry. Going straight to what broke the camels back for 3 days I kept saying that I have this bad headache being brushed off, I am in pain not thinking straight have the cold sweats going on my boyfriend comes in takes charge and these nurse's automatically put me on the high priority list he leaves goes home, the nurse admitted that the other shift forgot to give me some pain medication that day. What happened was I ended up going to the emergency room and I told them I refused to go back to that place I did not feel safe. Now I am heading to another place and Pray that it's better.
