This is in response to your comment. You do not have the slightest idea what have transpired on Friday 8/19/22. As soon I arrived at the food pantry with my son, I told the volunteer that I am picking up some food for my neighbor with limited mobility and I told her that I do not remember her name. She replied in a rude tone "I can not let you go in there and shop away" How demeaning is that. At that point, I had my son returned to the car because I did not want him to be exposed to your volunteer's unwelcomed behavior. I provided her of my identification which displayed my address which is similar to my neighbor but I guess that was not good enough for her. I attempted to call my neighbor with no success, and a short while later my neighbor called back to verify that she sent me. To further humiliate me, the volunteer made me wait outside after confirming the name of the person who sent me and let another person in ahead of me without asking any questions. I felt humiliated and hurt of the treatment and the disrespect that I received from that volunteer. Maybe you should educate your volunteers on the proper way to interact with people from different ethnic groups, culture, and social/economic background. At any point of the interaction, I used profanity or made any derogatory remarks. You were not present during the interaction, therefore, do not make judgement. I still strongly believe that I was racially profiled. Also, your volunteer failed to mention to you that I exited the food pantry in tears but once again, my feelings did not matter.

This town pantry really does a nice job of helping meet the food needs of members of the North Branford/Northford Community. The volunteers are friendly, helpful and caring people that treat those in need with respect. To say I am impressed is an understatement. I am in awe of the job they do that they dont have to do. Thank you!

I am utterly speechless and disgusted. I thought I would never, in my life, run into racism in this part of the community. However, I was truly mistaken. This was a classic form of racial profiling at its finest. Besides the woman with her deplorable personality, the rest of the people who work there are kind and genuine. I feel sorry they have to work with a liability.
