This was a great tour. JR, the guide, grew up on the island, which made the tour more authentic and engaging than if our guide was someone from outside the community. He told a lot of great stories that you probably would not hear on the state's tour and gave us the flexibility of choosing how much time we spent at certain sites.

JR. Grovener was an excellent guide. Ferry ride was fun. The Reynolds mansion is no longer open for tours..unfortunately..but the beach is one of the best I have been on. The history of the island is interesting. Glad I went.

Felt quite disappointed with this tour. First of all, it was extremely challenging to book. I called multiple times over three weeks, spoke to JR, and he said he would call me back but never did. Finally one time he did call me back, but said touring two people wasn’t worth his while so he passed us on to his dad.

The tour was fine but it was like pulling teeth to get any information. We basically had to pepper questions rather than there being any coherent narration.

Really cool tour of the little known gem Sapelo Island. We spent several hours with Jr as he drove us around and gave a very interesting history of the island. Even though there were Covid restrictions preventing us from entering the buildings we were able to walk around the sites. 10/10 will visit again.

JR was a great tour guide. He showed us so many gems about the island and gave us a look into what it’s like to live on the island. The island is absolutely beautiful. There’s so much history on the island that helps us understand modern issues and gives us a true insight on what the people on the island have overcome. JR was very accommodating with the needs of the older folk in the group. He also gave great restaurant recommendations from a local perspective. We all truly enjoyed the tour and would recommend everyone to do the tour.

Ferry from Brunswick Ga over to an 11x3 mile island that is practically mostly wildlife and WMA land with limited beach access but totally deserted and beautiful.
The UGA has a small campus for marine biology and this is where many sea turtles are finding new life and are able to multiply. I picked up whole sand dollars (about 100) and fished on the beach in the ocean and caught 2 6’ sharks!
There is one small store-1 small motel like place and the RJ Reynolds’s mansion with a bowling alley and a swimming pool (allegedly, it’s not a ā€œjust walk intoā€ place), but I think groups can plan ahead and stay the night-U cannot drive there and there is no car or food available.
Amazing experience for someone who loves nature, wildlife, quiet beaches and to literally get away from it all!

Our group had a wonderful day with Mr. JR Grovner! The tour was amazing. We had lunch on the beach! It was a day well spent and worth every dime! We were also fortunate enough to see a Sweet Grass weaving demonstration with Ms. Yvonne!

Sorry to have missed out on your tour. I had read up online about how informative this tour was supposed to be and was looking forward to it. Myself and 9 additional friends were in the Brunwick, GA And St Simons area around September 23 through 26th. I called you number upon finding your tour information online. The gentleman who took the call informed me that he was at the airport doing a dropoff etc and said would get back to me regarding my tour inquiry. Well today is 10/09/2022, and have to this day not received a call back. I had been previously quoted that the tour would be $30 per person not including tips etc I assume. Well 10 people @ approximately $40 estimated per person adds up to approximately $400. Appears to be a considerable loss of income for a company trying to prosper and make a living off tourists in today's economy.
