The people there are subtle with their racism like last week I went to the food bank,waited in line,saw what they were giving everyone in the boxes,(which was filled to the top) and when I got mine I only had one pack of meat, cupcakes and bread.the white lady I was riding with just gave me her box because she said that wasn't right.my only regret is that I didn't record it but I will remember next month.They also won't help you with bills if you are black.the short lady in the office told me to be up there 9 am on Monday and when I get there she tells me and the older black lady we had to call to make an appointment and when I kept saying that wasn't what she told me,she just completely ignored me and started talking to someone else.

Want a bargain its here waiting for you. Plus it helps out the community. Easy road access. Wednesday is senior day. They always have specials going on.staff is always friendly and ready to help when needed. I always go here to finds odd and ends. Need a missing piece to something you can probably find it here. They also have a large clothing section. House wares, clothing,toys,furniture and more.

Been going here for years and everyone that works there have become farmiliar faces. They offer lunch Monday-Friday 11am-12:30pm to who ever needs it and we are regulars. The boss lady for the kitchen is an amazing cook and has the best tasting collard greens in the world. She deserves also alot of credit for how hard she works just to fill our bellies. Same goes for the rest of the staff. Thank you guys for all you do to help us!

Love the VAC! Every spring and fall cleaning, I gather anything I don't need and donate. Just drop off real quick. Then go inside and they write you a receipt. After, when it is time to do your taxes, take your receipts with you and count it off!!

The VAC has always had a need for volunteers to be able to help out and if you do end up volunteering they can be pretty friendly and easy to work with. A lot of companies and corporations offer their assistance to the community through the VAC and donate often.

If you come on the weekdays from around 9:30 or 10:00 AM they serve a free lunch to anyone who walks in and it is always different each day. They only serve lunch until 12:30 PM, so be sure to arrive before then.

I have recently spoken to someone about getting rent assistance. They have always been great to help me out with food assistance and everything, however today when I called I had kind of an upsetting experience. As I am a very slow talker I was trying to tell her my jobs that I had applied for but I felt as if she was over talking me and all I was trying to do is get my folder out while maintaining being on the phone. I felt like I was being rushed and when I told her I felt like she was over talking me she said I was being ugly. I then asked her name because I wanted to know who I was talking to she knew my name and she hung up the phone. I thought at first it was bad connection but it said caller hung up. I tried to call back and nobody would answer. I left a message and asked to speak to a supervisor but nobody has called me back. I hope whomever it was that took my call has a better day and know that I truly was not trying to be ugly I was just trying to get the correct information to you but again I felt like I was being rushed.
