WOW! Alex's "Tucson Origins" tour was absolutely perfect for our academic conference group. His depth of knowledge is truly remarkable and he spoke to so many aspects of Tucson history and culture that our group wanted to learn about. Everyone enjoyed themselves and came away with a richer understanding of what makes this city and region so unique. Also, Alex was lovely to work with - very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!!

My recent trip with Borderlandia to explore the food, history, and culture of Hermosillo and Sonora was all I had hoped for. In two and a half days we experienced a variety of foods (lots of tacos!) and traveled all around the city to markets, museums, public plazas and small food vendors. Our hotel was modern and comfortable, and our driver was super and very adept at negotiating small parking spaces and streets. For me traveling further south into the state of Sonora to compare and contrast the landscape, food, and culture with the US borderlands gave me greater insight into what makes southern Arizona so special. And Alex is the perfect guide, always attentive to the groups needs and super knowledgeable about Mexican history and culture. Can't wait for another trip!

Alex gave a presentation at our "Amigos" men's group last week. He spoke at length about Bacanora Mezcal.
Alex is a talented presenter and provided a lOT of information about the region of Sonora and the specialized foods and drink coming from the area.

He also told us about Borderlandia, and some of the other work that Alex and his wife are doing. I've signed up for the newsletter and hope to get out on one of their excursions soon!

Good morning Alex and fellow travelers. Rocco and I want to thank Borderlandia for putting together diverse and enjoyable trip. I think we were very lucky to have the great group that we had. The food was great and plentiful, the hotel was our own private oasis. We love the way Alex seeks out environmentally sustainable groups to support. We will definitely be on another excursion with Borderlandia!

Another great tour to Mexico with Alex and Borderlandia! Alex's ability to share so much history and customs (and food) from different regions of Mexico makes you quickly feel immersed in the culture and the lives of the people you meet. Alex loves Mexico and its people and his enthusiasm makes you love them too.

Today's tour, the Battle of Nogales Walking Tour, was superb. Plenty of historical facts, an introduction to the border town of Nogales, and all of it presented by someone who has a love for the area and its stories. I highly recommend Borderlandia Tours!

Edit: Just returned from the day trip to Magdalena! What a great day trip. Good food, good company, and a wonderful chance to learn even more about our border home.

Mr. Alex La Pierre...

Borderlandia.org presented to our Green Valley Amigo's club a cross cultural history
about Bacanora an Agave Spirit and how the Sonoran Desert and it's people have shaped a very popular drink. If given a chance to attend ANY Borderlandia presentation...Do So...you will be enriched... Dave
