Came to Smithgall Woods for the first time today. It’s a great visitor center with a bunch of cool souvenirs/gifts. I bought a couple things and the prices were perfect. They also have trail maps and other good info to have. There’s a neat little museum type room that shows things you’ll find in the park, very informative. And the gentleman working there was incredibly helpful. Can’t wait to go back and explore the park.

One of the nicest visitor centers in North Georgia! Neat little museum that shares a lot of the nature and history of the surrounding area. The host is extremely pleasant and helpful.

Great staff. Every time I call to save a fishing spot the folks are so helpful. Ask any question and they do there best to help or send you to the right place. Many thanks to all park staff. Hug a loved one.

The nicest guy in the world works at the visitor's center here. After my daughter purchased a mushroom t-shirt, he said:
"ALL mushrooms are edible... Once."
He was very informative and friendly. What an asset to the park. They're lucky to have him.

Good place to buy trinkets for the park (maps, toys, patches, stickers). Park Ranger is helpful in giving info on the trails and area. Cool showroom of animals that are in the area.
