Our wedding venue was absolutely beautiful, exactly what I had envisioned for our special day. The open chapel and solarium were my favorite parts, and the setting itself was truly stunning. However, my experience with the venue owner left a lot to be desired, and unfortunately, it overshadowed what should have been a stress-free and joyful time leading up to the wedding.
I was told I could not bring in my decorations until Friday (the day before the wedding) because a cleaning crew would be working all week. When we arrived, we were shocked to find that the reception area had clearly not been cleaned at all. Instead of just decorating, we had to spend hours cleaning before the rehearsal dinner—something that added unnecessary stress to an already packed schedule. It was frustrating to be misled, especially when a simple, honest policy about cleaning expectations would have prevented the issue entirely. I hesitated to reach out to the owner, but my family and friends encouraged me to do so. I sent her a polite message, assuming she had hired a cleaning crew and that they had failed to do their job. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she immediately became defensive and upset. When she arrived in person, she was visibly angry, making dismissive comments such as, “People are dying of cancer, you know… this isn’t that big of a deal.” While I understand that perspective in a broader sense, it felt completely inappropriate in response to a legitimate concern about a service we had paid thousands of dollars for. At no point was I rude or demanding. I didn’t ask for a refund or even an apology—I simply wanted to make her aware of the situation so future couples wouldn’t have to deal with the same issue. Despite this, she continued to insist the venue was clean, even as we were sweeping up piles of dirt and wiping down visibly dirty surfaces. The reality is that this could be an easy fix. If the venue doesn’t include cleaning, that’s completely fine—but it should be communicated upfront so that couples can plan accordingly. Giving brides at least two days to clean and decorate, or offering an optional cleaning service for an additional fee, would prevent unnecessary stress and frustration. This was the only issue we had during our entire wedding process, but it was significant enough that I cannot recommend this venue. As beautiful as it is, no bride should be treated with such hostility before her wedding. A professional and transparent approach goes a long way in this industry, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Highgrove Farm is one of the area's most beautiful and well-kept wedding venues. It's quickly become one of my favorite as a photographer. The chapel and lake house have lots of clean natural light and there are many places around the grounds for portraits. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride!

Our gorgeous bride and handsome groom were married at Highgrove farms in Valdosta over the weekend. Beautiful landscape!! However, the most unprofessional business I have heard of. It's sad that you pay thousands of dollars for the use of a venue, with lights, water, air conditioning and the basics of life
and they will not hold up their part of the contract.
We all have understand a horrific storm came through; however not offering to help the family out, is not acceptable.
They refused a partial refund, to supply generators or bathrooms or help find a way to get running water. The wedding party had to supply their own generators and port-a-pottys. The catering service had limited abilities for their needs and
the chapel seating was covered with dirt and the chapel itself needs a major cleaning. Be sure to wipe your clothes off after sitting in there.
The dining area has major soft spots in the flooring and needs good repair.

Please think twice before using them or atleast be prepared for no assistance from the owners.

I recently had a wedding here, this past April. The venue was stunning, but it is not well kept. On the weekend of my wedding, there were multiple inconveniences that were not the venues fault, but the venue seemed to not help the situations at all. Showing up on Friday, the air conditioning was out. The owners were informed of this, and stated there was nothing they could do, leaving my family on their own to find ways to cool down the venue prior to my Saturday afternoon wedding.

On Saturday of the wedding, we got to the venue early to get hair and makeup done—when we found out the toilets were not flushing. I messaged the daughter to inform her and she replied very unprofessionally to me. By the time the owner Evelyn got there, she ran into my bridesmaids and said “ya’ll are just finding things to break huh”—blaming us for the plumbing issues.

I would not recommend this venue. While it is beautiful, they do not keep the upstairs and outside kept clean at all. We were wiping down the walls just so it didn’t look as dirty. It seems all of these issues were arising during my wedding weekend, and they had no resolutions for them. The owner kept calling me downstairs, the day of the wedding to speak with me about venue issues. My father called the daughter, the day of the wedding to ask questions as he paid for this venue, then Nicole called me and got unprofessional, asking if I had told him the situation then abruptly hung up on me… then about 15 minutes later Evelyn called me downstairs to practically “get onto me” for informing my father of everything.

When signing the contract, I would ask “what happens if the air conditioning goes out?” And questions, such as that to understand how they will provide your full moneys worth. I would also ask them to given you a full/in-detail count on tables. I received a count from Nicole months prior, then when we arrived, there were 6 missing tables.
