Rode in both the AH-1 and UH-1 today. I was fortunate enough to begin my Cobra ride from a cold start, so I could hear the preflight checks, observe the gauges as the engine spun up, and watch the rotor blades get up to speed. After lift-off, we did some simulated attack runs. An E-ticket ride for sure!! (Hint - Ask for Fred as your Cobra pilot.) The Huey ride was everything I dreamed it would be…flying around with the doors open, face in the wind, listening to that classic Huey “thump, thump, thump, thump” as the blades cut through the air. Finally, the people at the AAHF Hampton (GA) Chapter are just great folks who will do everything they can to make your ride the memory of a lifetime. I highly recommend you take advantage of the opportunities they offer. Doing so will also help keep these aircraft accessible to future generations, as the proceeds go to aircraft maintenance and upkeep (fuel, parts, etc.). So, get to an AAHF chapter near you (outside Atlanta, St. Louis, or Mesa) and take some rides. I guarantee you won’t regret it!!

Flying in the Huey was one of the coolest and most exhilarating experiences of my life. Flying in a helicopter for the first time and it being one that was flown in the Vietnam!! Super special and all of the vets at Army Aviation were just the best!!!! They were so fun and informative. We will be back and also hoping to maybe ride the cobra one day!!! Thank you do such an amazing experience!

(Husband): I booked a flight in a Cobra helicopter at the Atlanta Chapter. Already upon arrival, my wife and I were warmly welcomed and briefed on the flight details. Also during the flight, the pilot explained a lot of details regarding the helicopter itself, the different maneuvers he was flying as well as answered all my other questions. Meanwhile, the ground crew showed my wife around and explained all the different helicopters in the hangar. Therefore, I can highly recommend taking a tour in one of these awesome helicopters!

From inquiry to actual flight, what an amazing group of professionals. 3-23-2022 in greencove springs Florida for the WW11 reenactment. Went last year and didn't ride. Big mistake. As a Vietnam veterans son who has Vietnam in my veins, I highly recommend taking the ride to fulfill your needs. Thank You and will ride again next year. *
