David was a great guide for the ghost tour and the civil rights tour. Just wish would have had taken time to get out and take some pictures But he did take us up to the Vulcan and to a real nice restaurant that had some great food.

Our tour guide David made some very “off-color” comments during our tour on 10/23/2024. We toured the Theater District and learned the history of The Vault lounge. I mentioned I attended a Halloween party at The Vault and David said “Oh I can tell what ‘type’ of person you are, going to a club like that”. What type of person does that make me exactly? Continuing on our tour, we learned about the historic buildings downtown some dating back to the 1800’s. David mentioned that a business near the McWane Science Center was looted during a protest in 2020 and said “And it’s funny ‘they’ looted this business because it’s a Black business”. I asked “Were there only Black people looting?” David said “I don’t know I wasn’t there but you can watch the videos”. I replied “Sounds like you need to watch the videos.” Regardless of how this tour guide’s comments may have been intended, singling out a guest on his tour and assuming the content of their character by the bar/lounge they patron is rude. Secondly, on a tour of the Theater District in Birmingham to learn about ghosts, mentioning a protest against police brutality that happened in 2020 was irrelevant and implying that the looters were all Black people stealing from a Black business had nothing to do with the subject matter. David needs a script. A tightly crafted script with well informed research about Birmingham’s Theater District that he should not stray away from. Some tour guides are creative and funny enough to improvise and make jokes off the cuff. David is not one of those people. The personal digs and implied racism wasn’t what I signed up for and this won’t be a tour a recommend to anyone. Not only was I offended by David’s comments, but the tour was less than entertaining. Along with writing a script for the tour guides, creating material for the guests to follow along with during the tour and take home may help with the lack of engagement and keeping the guests’ attention.

I had the pleasure of going to the grand opening for this store this weekend and I was not disappointed! I had suck a great time hanging with friends, going on a mini ghost tour, food was catered in, got a tarot reading, got Flash mobbed, and even seeing the great Edward Wolfgang Poe of course! It was such a good time go check out their store! I'll be back to see the staff, do a long form tour, and get more merchandise very soon!

This review is for two tours. The first tour was Ghosts and Graveyards- Chauffeured Through the Darkness with Wolfgang and the 1963 Birmingham Civil Rights Experience with Wilhelmina. I really enjoyed both. Wolfgang actually drives you in not 1, BUT 2 cemeteries telling you the various history and spooky details behind it. This is perfect for someone that likes ghost stories and local haunts. I REALLY Enjoyed some of the jokes that he told. The smiles and laughs were worth it. He was also kind enough to drop us off at our hotel in the area at the conclusion of the tour. The second tour was with Wilhelmina. A Lovely local native tour guide that took us on a walking tour. She knew the ends and outs of the old spots in Birmingham as well as taught us some things that we didnt already know about the Civil Rights Movement. This was even more enjoyable since she grew up in the area and remembers a few of those events+social norms of that particular period. This was a great way to conclude the 16th Street Baptist Church+National Civil Rights Institute Tours that I took the day prior. She also dropped us off at our hotel which was awesome. So 5 stars for safety and customer service is in order and well deserved. Both were lovely and exciting tours and I would definitely consider using this company again the next time that Im in Birmingham. The only tips that I have would be to Bring a water bottle and an umbrella for the walking tour. It was quite hot that day, you WILL get thirsty and I was travelling with an older woman.

We took their Historic Highlights Tour which gave an overview of the history of Birmingham. Our guide (can't remember his name but he looked like a young Colonel Saunders) was very friendly and obviously knowledgeable about the city. The tour included a visit to Vulcan park, Arlington House and the Sloss Furnaces as well as the city’s most iconic landmarks. A really enjoyable and informative four hours. Highly recommended for an overview of Birmingham.

David was a wonderful tour guide! We got lost before the tour, he called us and stayed on the phone until we got there. He had so many jokes, and told us so many facts about the city as well as the spooky stuff. We are so glad we went on this tour!
