I recently went on a trail ride with Blue Ridge Mountain Trail Rides, and while there were some enjoyable moments, my overall experience was mediocre. Nice petting zoo.

First, I want to give a huge shoutout to Emilie—our guide—who was absolutely amazing. She was kind, professional, and went out of her way to make the ride enjoyable, even taking a cupcake out of the saddle and wishing my son a happy birthday, which was a thoughtful touch. The highlight of the ride was going through the water with the horses, which was a fun and unique experience. As they advise, make sure to wear old shoes!

However, I was disappointed that we did not get to experience the mountain top sunset view, which I specifically paid for ($70+ per person for four people). While another group did go up, we did not, and our ride felt significantly shorter than the promised hour—closer to 45 minutes. I can’t help but wonder why we didn’t get the full experience.

Additionally, I found it highly unprofessional how the owner spoke to Emilie in front of customers. No employee should be treated that way, especially one as wonderful as Emilie. It was uncomfortable to witness and put a damper on the experience.

On the plus side, they do offer a military and first responder discount, which helped offset the cost. However, given that we didn’t receive the full experience as advertised, I wouldn’t pay for the(sunset) higher-priced ride again. If you’re considering this trail ride, I’d recommend opting for the more affordable option, as you may not get what you pay for with the premium package.

Overall, Emilie made the experience enjoyable, but the lack of professionalism and not receiving the full ride I paid for left me disappointed. I hope the company addresses these concerns, and I wish Emilie the best in finding a workplace that truly values her.

We really enjoyed our ride here! I could tell the animals are loved and well cared for. My daughter adores horses. I'm not a confident rider, and they gave me a horse that was very gentle. We both had fun and enjoyed the little petting area with goats, ducks, chickens, and rabbits too.

Our guide, Emily, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us so much information about the area and the horses both. She's a lot of fun to talk with and this made the ride even more fun. I'd like to go back in another season to see the mountain with leaves on the trees.

The only suggestion I would make would be to update the restrooms. They are out of sync with an otherwise very nice operation.

We had the best time at Blue Ridge Mountain Trail Rides! Emily was our guide and she was fantastic! She was very friendly and attentive to our group before, during, and after our trail ride. My husband had never ridden a horse before and felt extremely safe the whole time. I highly recommend them whether you are a seasoned rider or a beginner. We will definitely be back! Thanks for such an amazing time!

Had an unforgettable experience with Blue Ridge Mountain Trail Rides! The guides were nothing short of exceptional, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride. The trail itself was beautifully maintained, and the views were simply breathtaking. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great outdoor adventure. The pricing was quite reasonable too for an hour-long ride. They did have a small petting area with Donkey, goats, and rabbit. The farm dog was the sweetest lil guy and followed his person all around even on trail. Will definitely be back!

Let me say this was the BEST experience ever. Me, my friend and her husband went. Emily was our guide and she made feel so comfortableand my horse (DAKOTA) was also great! The highlight of the ride was when we went through the creek (video uploaded) and we let the horses drink water! We will be back. I don’t want to forget the gentleman that helped us get on the horses as well but I don’t remember his name.. but nonetheless he made us feel comfortable and it was an awesome experience.

Super great experience riding here! The horses are well fed and looked taken care of. I am a mildly experienced rider with English discipline and My Husband has no experience, but we both had a great time. The views are wonderful on the hour and a half ride. Also, this place does not buy the reviews like some others do. Please give this place a chance. Emily and Hunter (I think) were amazing trail guides and super sweet folks. They gave local recommendations and were super sweet.
