Products are very overpriced. Most won’t have price tags and they give you a price depending on how you “look” The can smell the tourists! Also, they gave me some extremely high prices on things, I’m a local, so I know those items were not worth what they were quoting! They have sweet grass baskets priced for $500+ that are not even in display cases! When I went, the door was wide open and all the dust and pollen from outside was blowing right into the store. If those baskets were really worth that much, why would you leave them open to the elements? In addition, I had a friend, a week later, go in and inquire about the same pieces I did and she was given a substantially lower price!!! Very sketchy business practices going on here! This is NOT a museum! It’s a tourist trap!

Wonderful exhibits, even though it's basically a big shopping store. The "owner's" sister was a wonderful, helpful person. She could be a docent in any museum!

This is a beautiful shop full of the rich Gullah history. I wished I had taken more pictures to share, there was a lot of great art. But I do have one picture of a vase that had to be 4- 5 feet tall, all hand carved. I was blown away by it!

Just plain wonderful. A must see if you stay on , or just visit St. Helena. African American history center stage, up close. The amazing history of courageous and freedom loving heros is preserved to inspire all of us today. This is a wonderful gallery, so alive and full of vibrant color. Incredible artwork and antiques, many of them for sale.

Beautiful artwork from African and African American artists. Great pieces to select from for purchase. There was an event going on so we did not stay long. There is Gullah Geechee cuisine available across the street as well for a well rounded experience.
