Very over-manned on a very slow morning. We arrived 10/26 very shortly after it opened in the morning and we were the only two guests. The employees were all huddled together talking among themselves. As slow as it was someone could have said, "Welcome!" or "Good Morning!" or "If you have any questions, ask me!" I wouldn't expect this if it was busy, but there were more than twice as many employees as guests.

We stopped in here on the way to the airport in Seattle. We did not have time to do the whole drive up to Mt Saint Helens but there is lots of good stuff here with some really interesting exhibits. There is also a good gift shop. More importantly you can see Mt Saint Helens clearly in the distance.

Educational and fun. Easy drive from Portland, great way to introduce kiddos to volcanoes.
Mini movie about the eruption is neat and teaches everyone something.
Cool model displays and oodles of learning in the museum. Great gift shop with any kind of mementos you could need.
Plenty of parking and shaded parking too, there’s even an area to walk your dog. Paths are very accessible though there is a small incline to access the loop through the marsh, you could definitely roll it or navigate with cane.
Tables and spots for picnics and if you don’t pack anything, the snack bar is reasonably priced and has caffeine.
Well worth the drive.

Glad I stopped! Was headed to seaquest state park but unfortunately they are closed this year. The grounds keeper was super kind and informative while I stopped and asked her about the parks near by. A cute little nature walk about a mile was available to walk. It was a quick stop and super pretty views

Really nice walk, especially in foggy weather it was perfection. Cheap, and calming yet bustling. Inside has a mini museum/movie with information about the area/site/history. Outside was a super relaxing boardwalk in which we saw many new plants and animal species. Didn't even want to hike after this because we got our exploring in here lol. 10/10
