I am SO blessed that I found Athens House for my stay in Athens. What a glorious hidden gem - and a wonderful location, so close to town, yet I felt like I was in the country. The accommodations were so nice, much larger than any hotel room, and so comfy - slept like a baby. The big bathroom and claw footed tub were nice too. And a mini fridge with a freezer - nice! The hosts, Dean & Christina, were just wonderful. They responded to me promptly with my questions, and prepared me a delicious breakfast in the morning, even accommodating me to have it one hour earlier than normal as I had training to get to. Thank you so much, I will be back for sure!

We stayed for one night in the Azalea room. So clean, and very quiet. Great location and easy to access. Sadly we had to leave before breakfast. If we ever return to Athens for an overnight stay, this will definitely be our go to place.

After finding this place last year and having an amazing experience, we decided to return this year for our annual UGA game.
After 20 years of dealing with busy/stressful downtown hotel stays, we will always look here first for our future Athens accommodations.
This place is calming, peaceful and is kept up incredibly well. We have stayed in two of their rooms and both were CLEAN and comfortable. The breakfast is also 5 stars! The owners were accessible and attentive to any of our needs throughout our stay.
Thank you for another great year, we will be back!

I loved my stay here. This place is definitely at the top of my list if I ever come up to Athens again. The service is kind, courteous and friendly. The rooms are great and I really enjoyed breakfast. It's a little off the beaten path, but there is plenty of fast food or grocery stores and things like that close by. If you want a nice, quiet, relaxing place to stay while you're in Athens, I would say this is it. I don't travel much but it's worth repeating. If I find myself in Athens again, this will be the first place I call about a room. 👍👍👍👍👍

Friendly hosts. Great location convenient to Athens and surrounding area.

We arrived late (around 10:00 PM). Host knocked and entered room to adjust heat.

Specific to Magnolia Suite: Peeling wallpaper. Dirty, unkempt balcony. Dark entry (somewhat treacherous after dark). Comfortable bed and linens. Decent breakfast.

I’m an out of state student in the Redcoat Band at UGA, meaning I always have to get to Athens earlier than move in dates for the places I have lived. This has always been a stressful experience of going from a standard downtown hotel to practice, but this year was so much better because of Athens House. I’ve never stayed somewhere so peaceful and historic, and there was not a single bad part about the experience. The price was insanely good, the breakfast was so delicious and comforting to have after being on the road, and while I didn’t get to meet Christina, Dean was SO GREAT. I don’t know how many hotels have people willing to help you replace a flat tire on your car and also teach you how to do it yourself, but Dean could not have been more helpful and welcoming during our entire stay. Definitely will be back 🙂

Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Everything you want for a nice stay. An easy drive to downtown Athens. Great Location with a Publix and a McDonalds nearby. Yes you will see deer and the home cooked breakfast in the main house was a nice little touch. And the owners are nice people!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Athens House this past Sunday and Monday. We were in the area to visit and family and this will be our go-to place from now on. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, the service, the cleanliness and the breakfast. Many modern conveniences for a 200-year-old home. The beauty of the grounds is second to none. The communications before our arrival were outstanding. Can not give a high enough recommendation for Athens House.
