It's a nice little spot. The owners mind their own business, and the entrances to the rooms aren't in a hallway that the rest of the motel can hear you walk down. They're affordable, the most affordable in town actually, the rest are overpriced, and if you're not getting it comped, you're paying too much. The rooms come with a microwave and mini fridge, as well as wifi and cable, and if their TVs are too old for you, just whip out your tablet or laptop and watch. Within walking distance of two convenience stores, 1 grocery store, the dollar general and the square, it has the best location too

As far as motels go, this is a good one. Rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable. Always accommodating when we are coming in late very friendly and reasonable rates.
This is our halfway stopping point from MN to southern Missouri.

This motel was great! I got stuck in Osceola after my train was 13hrs late. Showed up at like 11 pm, and the owner operator checked me in! Very nice man. He also offered advice to me on what restaurants were good and how to get to them. Also offered to keep my bag in a safe place while I waited for my ride!!! Great service from the lovely couple that run this place. If I ever need a place to stay in Osceola, I'll be back!

The motel is an older property, maybe early '60s, and while it does show its age, we were very happy with our stay. The rooms are acceptably clean, and come with the standard - fridge, microwave, wifi. The furniture is older, but for $60, you can't expect 'brand new Holiday Inn' décor. The bathrooms are fabulous original tile and fixtures, very blue. They are well kept, and the water pressure/temperature were very good. The owners were pretty nice, and gave me an old postcard of the place.||||We spent two nights here, and one of the best parts was the very short walk into downtown, so drinks at dinner were no problem. I think we actually stayed in August '18, since we were there for the state fair. It's a very short drive up to the free parking/shuttle in Des Moines, and you save a bundle and avoid crowds. Osceola itself is quiet and pleasant.

We ended up needing to stay in Osceola unexpectedly while we were on a road trip, and our expectations of this place were not real high considering the price and the age of the facility. We were pleasantly surprised! The owner and his wife were incredibly nice, the rooms are clean and relatively spacious, and the mattresses were better than average for hotels in this price range. Not fancy, but definitely comfortable. It's easy to find, and the gas station right across the street was a bonus. Despite being right off a main road, it wasn't noisy at all. We'd stay there again in a heart beat. 🙂

Didn't like the look of our original planned motel, so took to TA and found the Blue Haven just down the road. Sure, it's an older place but our room was clean and everything worked just fine. Fairly quiet considering the location; OK, an occasional train went by but nothing that kept us from a good night's sleep. We felt safe and secure (not so sure that would have been the case in the other place down the road...) Pleasant staff, nice price.
