Geoff and I had the absolute privilege of getting married at the Prelude. I found them on Instagram and fell in love with what they are building in New Virginia. When we toured in 2022, the addition and bridal suites weren’t finished, but Ashley and Nathaniel’s vision for the space and passion really sold us. We toured other venues, but our hearts were with The Prelude. The grounds are gorgeous, the style is stunning, and Ashley and Nathaniel are wonderful people. We trusted them, and by the time we had our wedding in 2023 the bridal suites and addition were complete and stunning. In addition to just being a beautiful place, Ashley and Nathaniel really made us feel special throughout the whole process. We were the first couple to have a plated dinner at the Prelude, and they were lovely when I was stressed about how it would work. Ashley invited the caterer out ahead of time so they could see the space, and she even sent us a video of how they were going to set it up to ease my nerves. They let us practice our first dance in private after everyone else left the rehearsal as well, which was a really special moment for us. All our guests loved the venue and spoke very highly of their experience. The Prelude, Ashley, and Nathaniel really made our dreams come true, and I will be dreaming about it forever.

Recently had the opportunity to bartend an event here. The Prelude is the most beautiful and unique event venue I've seen! Nestled just north of New Virginia, it offers breathtaking scenic views that make for an unforgettable setting. The owners, Ashley and Nathanael, are truly amazing—warm, attentive, and dedicated to making every event special. Highly recommend!

This place is beyond beautiful! It was the perfect place for our daughter’s wedding last month. So thrilled with with every detail. She had an outdoor wedding and then moved inside for the reception. The owners were absolutely amazing to work with too! Highly recommend.

We hosted my son's wedding at the Prelude and the entire experience could not have gone better. The venue is breathtaking! The view from The Prelude makes one feel like they're enjoying a Tuscan Vista. It was a wonderful backdrop for their art deco inspired theme. Ashley and Nathanael are the most attentive, detail oriented, and helpful hosts. Once the family and wedding party arrived, everyone was able to relax and enjoy the experience as Ashley and Nathanael ensured everything went smoothly. My son, James III, married his bride, Megan, last Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at The Prelude. As an ordained minister, I had the honor of officiating ❤. Like their love for one another, their friends, family, and the Lord, the outdoor and indoor venues were extraordinary, even Heavenly! (Admittedly, being from western Pennslyvania, I didn't realize Iowa had rolling hills 😊). I wish to express my wife's and my gratitude to the owners, Nathanael and Ashley, and staff, for their hard work, professionalism, and care for my son, his bride, the wedding party, and all invited guests.
