My mom is a resident at Addington Place, an assisted living facility in Fairfield. Having Mediacom as the cable provider has been beyond frustrating. The receptionist spent a good 45 minutes on the phone trying to resolve an issue with the service in my mom's room, talking to four different people before she finally got any kind of help. The issue was not resolved, so they are sending a tech person -- in THREE DAYS. It is exasperating to say the least for ANYONE to have to wait that long to have service restored, but for someone whose only connection to the outside world is television, to have to wait that long is almost abuse. I would not use Mediacom as my provider if it was FREE, and I certainly don't recommend them to anyone else.

Can’t even run two ps5s at a time pay 70$ a month for nothing if you’re a gamer , have fun I’m hardwired in and everything and still running 80-100 ping with both of us playing and lagging my ass off , pleased to know mcg was finally in my area and couldnt be happier to make the switch. Streaming Netflix or other streaming services or using your phone is the only thing halfway decent about this internet🤷🏼‍♀️

In case you get some issues with the internet and try and get technician appointment scheduled, it will take more than a week(I was told this is because I have a residential connection and not a business one). I called for a technician on 10th and the technician is scheduled for 18th.
The after sales support sucks (in my case).

Doggy doo literally the best way to explain this wifi awful never works everyday just a pain to deal with on any Givin day they should be ashamed to sell this service and work for this company

Stayed with Mediacom for the first year promotion ($40/month). It was a decent price for internet. Not the best speeds, but to be expected in a rural town. But after a year, the price jumped to $60/month (the same price as MCG).

The reason I'm rating them so low, however, has to do with my customer service experience. Our Internet was put in in January, so they were unable to bury the cable. The guy said they would put us on a list to bury it when the ground thawed. Fast forward to July, and nobody had done anything. I called. They said they'd take care of it within 30 days. I called multiple times over the next few months, every time being reassured it would be taken care of. Sometimes they even gave me a specific date someone would come to do it. Eventually the utility companies came to mark the ground, but the Internet company never came.

This was a huge hassle. It was a safety issue for my kids and for mowing the lawn. And it was a gigantic waste of my time.

I was willing to put up with the awful customer service when the cost was significantly lower, but now that it's the same as Mahaska, there is absolutely no reason to stay.

Price slowly keeps increasing, now the latest money grab is a converter box for every set without a cable box at a cost of $10. per month. Thank goodness they are connecting MCG fiber optics in our area right now.

they raised my rates again after only 3 months there losing everyone to MCG that have faster speeds and no data cap an instead of making their prices more competitive they raise them its odd i would keep them if they didn't think there worth more then then a higher quality service.
