House is lovely. Rooms, beds are comfy. Breakfast was an egg dish, fruit, and a fresh-baked muffin or bread. Host Dorothy is very friendly and respectful.
For visiting the college and staying in town, it was a perfect location.

Needing a place to stay in Grinnell, IA, for a couple days, I decided to consider a B&B rather than one of the national chain hotels. I am so glad I stayed at the Carriage House.||Their B&B is a very large, very well maintained older home near Grinnell College. ||My large room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and their was ample seating. There was private porch attached which made a nice, well lit space for reading. ||The bathroom had a large shower and the appropriate soaps and shampoos were provided. It was nice they provided the shampoo in a small bottle and the soap was a bar. ||Coffee was always available with a Keurig coffee maker and refrigerator was available for storing cold beverages.||The breakfasts both days were outstanding. Fresh fruit, yogurt, home made jam, home made bread, eggs and sausage. More than I could eat.||Next time I am in the area, I would definitely stay here. In fact, It is close enough to Des Moines that I would consider staying here rather than in Des Moines. The hour commute is not too different than I would have if I stayed at home. ||One more thing. The owners recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner. It was outstanding and an easy walk from the B&B.||

One of the nicest B&Bs I've ever stayed in. Lovely old Victorian home. The floors alone are to die for! Very clean and tastefully decorated. I was traveling on business and appreciated the desk and power port in my room--a lot of B&Bs don't provide them. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully served. Good location on quiet street a stone's throw from the college campus. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here on two separate nights in June '17, both on Sundays. We very much enjoyed our stay both nights in the Windsor Room (large room with king bed and recently updated private bath). House is well maintained and very comfortable. Dorothy and Ray are great hosts and provided exceptionally good breakfasts during both stays. The house is easy to find and is just a block from the college, so it would be very convenient for anyone who has business there. We will stay there again if we are traveling back in that direction. Highly recommended.

I am not sure when I have stayed in a more welcoming and festive home. Impressive on the outside, the house is even more so on the inside. Christmas trees in every room with a huge one in the living room. The main level had several rooms in which to relax, all seasonally decorated to the max. Upstairs every room had a small decorated tree and were otherwise well maintained. || Our host Dorothy was very personable and an excellent cook. Our breakfast's were excellent and varied. Our two night stay could not have been more pleasant. || This BnB is located a few blocks from downtown and several nice restaurants and even closer to Grinnell college. We hope to stay here again someday.

My first bed and breakfast experience and I absolutely loved it! It was the cutest place. It was clean and authentic. The breakfast was the best - better than restaurant or hotel. Dorothy, the host, was very nice and made sure our stay was pleasant. Definitely recommend skipping hotels and just going to the bed and breakfast.

We had a lovely stay and would love to come again! Comfortable room, cool and quiet on a hot day, a great place to come in and relax. The owners are gracious and hospitable. They made us two delicious breakfasts our two mornings here. This place has absolutely everything to love and enjoy on your visit to Grinnell.

We were pleased with our room at The Carriage House. The bathroom was en suite and though small, it was more than adequate. The sink was in the bedroom with no provision for hanging the towel by the sink. We also had to look for a bar of soap which we found on the floor of the shower. The bedroom was very spacious and nicely appointed. There were twelve of us for breakfast. We were served a nice meal at a tastefully decorated table. Dorothy was a very pleasant hostess. We did hear some activity on the third floor during the night.
