Clean, cheap, simple and better for it. Friendly staff. The bathroom for the room (215) was either silent or didn't work, but either way was far preferable to many motel fans that tempt you to shut off the light while showering to avoid a migraine.

This is my usual stop between Chicago and Denver. Rooms are good and price is right. Shout out to the staff who found my watch and called right away to ensure it got mailed back to me!

We decided to stop here for the night after reading numerous positive reviews and seeing that this motel had an on-site restaurant...a big selling feature for us. After a long day of being on the road, we prefer not having to get back in the car to drive somewhere for dinner. As it turns out, the restaurant was closed, but I only found this out after we had checked in...and when I went to the front desk to ask what time the restaurant opened. The website had also advertised breakfast for a nominal fee, so, of course, this wasn’t available either. |We ended up here on the weekend of Warren Buffet’s shareholder meeting in Omaha; because accommodation availability in the area was low, the price for rooms here was up…and more than what we were expecting to pay. Supply and demand! |We had a second floor room, and there were mattresses leaning up against the wall in the hallway! No idea what that was about but not a welcoming site as we walked to our room. We had a room with two double beds, a microwave and a bar fridge. The room was clean, and I loved that there were no carpets. It was quite chilly in our room when we arrived; thermostat was at 61 and it took a while to warm things up, but then we were good! The hotel has a no smoking policy, but the hallway smelled of smoke and we had a burn hole in our bed covering. There was no shampoo or hair dryer in the room. These were available but upon request; same with an iron and ironing board. We chatted with the owner, and he seemed to be a great guy. He told us he’s had this place for 20 years!

Nice clean room. Temperature control was great. Well lit parking area & parked close to my room. Much quieter than expected considering a Flying J truck stop is across the highway, which is convenient. A Subway is less than a block away. My dog slept all night & in other hotels he was up half the night due to noises from the hallway & nearby. I recommend & would stay again when traveling.

We found this hotel purely by accident. Our car died on the interstate and a state trooper actually gave us a ride to the Motel 6. The motel is in a great location, well lit and we felt totally safe in and outside of the building. The room was super clean and the beds comfortable. We stayed three nights and then an additional night when we drove back to pick up our repaired car. We will always stay at the Motel 6 in Avoca, IA on our way out west and back again.

A Surprise Hotel||As seniors we travel on a budget. The night before we didn’t make a good choice and thought we would have critters to help take our luggage out! (We didn’t see any - just a feeling). Our stay at Motel 6 was great! Super price, clean and comfortable. Excellent mattress - just firm enough and a surprise recliner that was very comfy. Thanks Motel 6 in Avoca, IA!

I've stayed here while traveling about a half dozen times over the last few years. Every stay has been pleasant, except this last time and it kind of pains me to write a less than stellar review. I liked it so much I've made it one of my regular stops while on a road trip. But this last time things weren't quite right. On Sept. 1 my room was $73, on Sept. 16 my room was $101. That's a big post Labor Day jump in price, when most hotel rates go down. I went to my room and it wasn't made up. That was a bit of a bummer, I was tired and had to wait at the desk to explain that I needed a different room, and I was disappointed when I was offered a room at a higher rate. Until this last stay I thought this was the best run Motel 6 in the nation and recommended it to many people. Sorry to say I'm not sure I'll be staying there again. At this moment it's a pretty hard pass.
