We stay here a couple of times a year. The rooms are expensive, but we like to be able to go to our room at the end of the night, rather than driving to another location. It's always fully booked even with that price. The rooms are always clean. It's probably a good time for some repairs and updates, though.

The staff is always friendly no matter where we are in the casino. Draft Day is a great place to grab a bite to eat for a good price. We also like grabbing snacks at 22 & Vine, although we've never been able to get in for a meal there. Ruthie's requires a reservation, so we've only eaten there once. It was very good, but pricey. We also enjoy the buffet for breakfast. There are many options, and everything is fresh. You won't walk away hungry, that's for sure.

The concert venue is very nice. It's easy to get around and easy to find your seat. The staff is friendly there, also.

The worst slots ever. The percentage here is what, 90% or a bit less? I think I’ve left here up much less than 10% of the time over the course of 20 years. And left happy on less times than I can count on one hand out of a hundred visits, perhaps. I think the only way I’ve found is playing in the high limit room. Otherwise, if you even get a bonus after playing through a hundred dollar bill, you might win shy of what you put in. Or the bonus gives you about $10. The machines are constantly blocking symbols and higher bets are met with nothing at all. Place has always seemed very fishy. So yes, half of the time if/when you do get a bonus, the winnings are laughable. Some machines that used to go off (when newer, it seems), are so dead now. I see nothing going on here, ever. And the few times I mention that I have left happy, my wife and I are both winning back to back, making it seem ever more odd. Hate this place and anyone who goes here to play slots is throwing their money away.

Needed a new players card, it took almost 20 min to get one! 🤷‍♂️ I got stuck behind a guy that couldn't find enough for ID to get his replaced and only one lady working the counter....as people started to line up behind me. That should have been handled differently. She should have let him continue to dig and told him, "excuse me, while you keeping looking I will help the next customer". Even after I got her to help me it took her almost 5 mins or more at the computer to print one 😟🤷‍♂️||The comp problem here has really gotten bad for us. They won't budge at all. For years we never had a problem and our play has not changed or decreased. When you don't try to meet people at least half way, it's not good. We walk in with that in the back of our mind....we tend to not play as long then, or different. And maybe not stay the night when we were going to or whatever. The idea of ANY casino is to try to keep patrons there as long as they can, better odds for them. It's just poor management here from whomever is making these decisions. Maybe they can't afford to anymore, IDK.||Strange situation, we don't have these problems at other casino properties we patronize. So, we do what most would do. We go to the other properties that do take care of us....it's that simple 😉

My husband and I stayed here on March 25th for one night in a complimentary room. All in all, I like this casino. Very new and modern with a good selection of slot machines. Staff was adequate but not overly friendly. The rooms are fabulous. Again, it is very modern and clean. We were not really hungry, so we decided to get slices of pizza at the snack bar. The pizza was mediocre. The crust was so soggy that you could not pick it up to eat it. The sauce was bland, and the crust was dry around the edges. I looked at their pastries and was looking forward to trying something, but it was close to 5 pm, and everything looked pretty dry. I decided to try in the morning, hoping it would be restocked. Stopped in at about 6 a.m., and the same old stuff was in the case, and the place was closed. I can not speak to the other onsite restaurants. This was our third time there, and the slots are pretty tight. If we are in the area again, we might stop but I would not go out of my way.

Our first visit to Riverside was for a concert and on a holiday so the facility was understandably very busy. Overall it's a nice facility that perhaps is just mildly starting to show its age. Pros: Staff service was great. Food and drinks were good and reasonably-priced at 22 & Vine restaurant. Plenty of free parking. Cons: No online or mailed ticketing; concert tickets picked up only onsite at will call, which was a table near the casino gift shop. Thankfully we arrived early to eat and the line wasn't long yet. The event center was not designed for big performances, and was disappointing for the ticket price paid. Imagine watching a concert in the same type of large room you would attend a wedding reception or a trade conference. Little crowd control; belligerent guests were allowed to stand at the edge of the platform and interrupt the performer. The concert was a no-frills production. Sound and mic mixing suffered, and there were technical difficulties in the latter half of the show that killed the feed to the two video screens, which made it even more difficult for people who couldn't stand to see the show. Sadly, as is often the case in Iowa, the casino floor is very smokey so we didn't stick around to gamble. And due to expensive hotel room pricing ($400) we left after the show and spent the remainder of our evening in a nearby town. We rarely golf so unless there is another act we absolutely can't miss, we doubt we'll return to Riverside anytime soon.

We gave Riverside a 2nd chance only because it was convenient for my husband playing in poker tournament again but we will NEVER stay there again!
Housekeeping being so loud early morning and hearing their radios again & again finally just got up & left. Then they didn't just hold my card they charged it making me then wait for a refund! I would have given her cash if that was what was going to be done.

Amazing staff, at least the staff I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Feels like it looks in the movies; they go way beyond basic customer service. My bartender even got one of his costumers a blanket…while they were drinking and eating in Draft Day. That place is my favorite, by far. The management, the servers, and especially those 3 bartenders. Wowza.

Went to see Cheap Trick in the event center, it is not what you expect it to be. Everybody was standing up, and disabled people who could not stand up, could not see the concert. The chairs were uncomfortable and crowded together. It was just one room with a flat floor, it was not like what I expected. It was not a comfortable setting whatsoever. I totally wasted $140 because I walked out before the third song was over. I will never go back, at least to the venue. The casino is not as good as I expected it to be, most of the games you cannot understand on how to play them. They have older slots, which I do not like. They do not have regular video poker, which I was looking for. I felt like it was a waste of my time and I was not very entertained. The rooms are pretty nice although they are somewhat over priced. Overall the service was excellent. Some of the patrons were extremely rude, especially at the concert. I rated the hotel and hospitality 3 to 4 stars, but the venue is a half a star In my opinion. I hope they got the message when I complained to them on my way out. When my friends and family asked me about my trip, I’m going to have to tell them to just read my review and decide for themselves whether they would like to go or not.
