I would leave five negative stars if I could. We had to remove our daughter from the trip due to medical reasons. Paid for the trip. This company is fraudulently keeping funds instead of returning it. I kind of feel that this is a fraudulent business and would not recommend them to anyone.I am filing a claim with a Better Business Bureau. If anyone else would like to attend this fraudulent claim against them, feel free to contact me. Update 8-1-24. Still have had no refund issued to me . I feel that no one should ever use this service. I was going to remove this review after I received my refund as was asked by there manager but he has not issued it.

8th Grade Trip to DC:
While this agency works with schools to provide trips for students, there needs to be stronger transparency of costs and better planning. Here are the issues we experienced:

(1) My students had to eat in mall food courts SEVEN times during their Monday-Friday trip, often for back-to-back meals (lunch and dinner). For a trip that costs parents $900+ per kid (with 4 kids to a hotel room), this is unacceptable. The teacher planning this trip accepted the itinerary, so Prodigy will undoubtedly default to that excuse, but a strong travel agency will contemplate the best case scenarios for all students and make suggestions to those planning the trip. If kids have any dietary concerns, a trip with this severe lack of nutritional offerings should be a "no-go." Had I realized the poor options my kids would encounter, I would not have let them go on this trip.

(2) When I called this agency to ask for an itemized list of expenses for the trip, I was told that the information is not given to the public. I cannot imagine making a purchase anywhere and being denied access to expenses.

(3) I contacted the office and spoke with Robert about my concerns, and I told him that I would personally speak to the teachers who planned our trip when they returned. I told him that I did not want to bother the educator in charge while he was on the road with so many kids. Robert took it upon himself to email the teacher and tell him to call me. This was unprofessional, and it was a complete violation of consumer trust. I felt terrible that the teacher's day was interrupted, and it was not the appropriate time or place to have a conversation about constructive suggestions for future planning.

I would like to think that a local agency would be a stronger representative of meaningful, high-quality travel. Unfortunately, Prodigy is severely lacking in its roll out of these trips. Ultimately, there is not enough advising of educators, and my students did "a lot"; however, in reality, they did very little that provided rich understandings of our nation's capital.

Our dc trip was canceled because there was no way for us to get there since the company that was going to bring us there said they couldn’t do it. The whole 8th grade was super sad because we thought it was not going to be rescheduled. But somehow this company rescheduled it in a day. They kept everything the same on the trip and the only difference now is the date we leave. I’m so happy and I owe it all to this company.

While kids are extremely happy before starting the trip, they are not being provided proper meals. In the current trip on 03/21/22 they had only 3 vegetarian meals for 27 kids who had specified meal preference as Vegetarian. Students have been asked to share the 3 meals among 27. This is utter poor service for ~800$.

8th grade Washington DC trip was cancelled due to the Covid. Which is NOT a security reason, Covid is a serious health risk. Only being reimbursed 90% of the total cost of the trip paid is ridiculous.
Needless to say, when my other child is in 8th grade and offered to go on a trip to Washington DC for school, if this company is used then she will not go.
Its sad that a company like this twists the verbiage of their own policy to get to keep paying clients money for something that couldn't be done and out of everyone's control.

We were scheduled to go to DC for an 8th grade trip. They cancelled the trip and are only reimbursing 80% of the funds back. Penalizing parents for a trip they canceled is ridiculous. I would not recommend this company for your traveling needs.

These guys cancelled 8th grade DC trip and didn't fully refund people because they said they said need to pay their own salaries. I know a lot of parents in poverty effected by this and stealing $120 from poor people to line their company's coffers is pretty despicable.
