This is the only agency I’ve ever dealt with personally and it’s not been a good experience. I have friends who deal with JFS in other counties and have never had any issues. I thought these guys were supposed to be of help during difficult times but if I relied on them I would’ve starved to death. No urgency out of this place. I’d leave a message and not get a return phone call until the second time I’d leave a message. Definitely lack any care or compassion. Good luck to others in Medina County I hope your experience is different.

I took my Grandson so I can't say anything about the counsellors. I do think it's great that you can get 5pm appointments.

I thought the responsibility of job and family services is to actually help your family, not tear them apart. I thought they are supposed to be understanding, listen, and caring for families, not calling them liars and trying to get one parent to go after another for child support (as long as the parent is helping). I was receiving assistance for sometime now, and then all of a sudden they TELL me and ACCUSE me of having someone residing in my home (even after having documentation). They cut me free from all assistance with having six children (five that are five and younger). They expect that because someone who has a decent income, they are supposed to pay all bills, rent, diapers and wipes for four kids, gas to get to and from work, insurance, and food for EIGHT people (2 adults and 6 kids) all with ONE income. Why do they help families and people who don't work who are losers rather than the people who actually work hard and try to take care of their family? We went from living paycheck to paycheck receiving a little assistance to now struggling to feed not only 6 children but two adults as well. I don't care about myself eating or not, but why make the children suffer? All because job and family want to accuse people and act like they know what goes on in your household using "evidence" from 7 years ago instead of doing their "investigation" that is current and up to date. If I could go back, I would have never asked for any assistance from job and family because all it has done for my family is make us struggle even more than before. I suggest to not receive any assistance unless you absolutely need it. It's not worth the hassle and accusations that are made against you. That is why I am requesting a state hearing because I won't let anybody accuse me of doing anything that I haven't done. Good luck to each and everyone out there. Please don't say you can't do something because if I can take care of six children and myself, anybody can do it.

They are there for you when, or if you ever need them. Great at helping a person that truly are in need of basic necessities so that they remain healthy and don't go without proper nutrition with a roof over thier heads. While they look for employment. Or if disabled . Thank you!
