The park is really beautiful! It has two different sides to it. One side is for walking dogs... one for just people. I've done both! There is a picnic area... a small play ground area... nice rest rooms. Over all I'd rate it a 9 out of 10 only because I'm not sure why the dogs can not walk on the people side where wooded area is....other than that I absolutely love this area!!

Stunning wetland and wildlife preserve. great bird watching Marsh and Wetlands trail... don't quit early because very soon the walk begins where it ends....into a special spot of quiet smiling beauty...love this walk! Keep in mind that the wetlands are not for bikes, fishing, or dogs. It's a designated wildlife preserve with protections in place. There is a designated area for dogs, which is also a nice walk. There is a center to visit and available to rent. It's definitely a must-see place during the migration season. In the front There are places to sit.

Rented the Sandy Ridge Reservation Johnson Wetland Center Meeting Room for a shower and it was wonderful. The space was clean, comes with a small fridge/ sink area, plenty of tables and chairs, air conditioned, bathrooms attached, and a beautiful view of the park. Highly recommend renting. Space is much larger than the parks page depicts. I posted 2 photos here to show the size of the space.

Love the hike and the view of the eagles nest! Easy paths and engaging experience for families with young kids. Small but well kept play area and clean restrooms.

This park was wonderful. I came with my daughter and son-in-law to go bird watching. It was a beautiful walk starting with the bridge at the beginning near the parking lot, through the woods where we spotted a pileated woodpecker, and out into the area of the lake and the nice gravel walkway that encircled it. We saw robins, herons, egrets, ducks, turtles, frogs, red-winged blackbirds, swallows, chipmunks, and even a family of racoons on our walk around the lake. It is a beautifully-kept park and well worth the trip. I highly recommend it! Enjoy the photos!

First time here. What a great area. Many wild birds beautiful wildflowers. We'll be back ,! Lorain County Parks are kept up very well.

Love this place, a great quick mile, with lots to see.

Winter months lack some of the appeal of course but early spring affords a lot of little wildlife and easier to see through the trees.

Sandy Ridge reservation is a beautiful place to hold an event at, and the people on site are extremely helpful and caring and willing to go above and beyond to make sure that you and your loved ones are happy and enjoying their facilities. Well it does cost money to rent. I highly suggest you also make a donation to Lorain county Metro Parks for doing such a good job. My father-in-law is an avid Hunter and was really impressed with all the taxidermy that was available for view in the meeting space that we rented for my brother's Memorial. The gentleman that worked that day went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed and even helped us out with a couple things that we forgot like extension cords. And a media cart? I would definitely use this facility again in the future. The trails are also beautiful. In the night we were there you could hear young fox cubs playing off in the distance. I look forward to visiting this place in the spring Even though it's beautiful all year round.
