They've operated a long-running bird banding station here that provides crucial data on bird populations. Only 3 stars because they flat out opposed the Icebreaker offshore wind energy project in Cleveland, instead of working with the local government and the company to reduce the negative impact on migrating birds. Opposing clean energy projects is a terrible long-term plan for bird conservation.

Beautiful quiet getaway. You forget you’re in Ohio for a few minutes. Take a slow stroll in the car or on the trail your choice. Right on the water with breath taking views.

The boardwalk goes for a long ways so it is easy to watch birds and have a convenient and safe walk.

You won't find a more dedicated crew to birding in conservation than this group here. Spring and fall migration is the busy time. however this is the stop off from many different breeds of birds. definitely a good stop for a day trip if you have 10 hours to spend.
