I easily spent 40 minutes in here. So much information and the park rangers were very knowledgeable. They showed our group an interactive game on how the canal works.

I rode the canal towpath on my bicycle 3 times so far & I'll keep riding there than anywhere else. The views are amazing. If you haven't done it I recommend you do.

The kids loved the exhibits, the rangers were very helpful. The volunteers were wonderful, teaching all of us a bit more history than we anticipated

A little bit hard to give an experience here since the center was closed for the season and doesn't open until may. The trails leading to and from the center are nice with an interesting bridge to go over. The actual canal is kind of small but worth a short stop to see.

This national park facility was the interpretive resource we were looking for on a visit to Ohio. The technology, the financing, the cultural impact, the opportunity for poor people and small farmers... all covered here. Outdoors is an actual lock, but many interactive exhibits inside, in a perfectly clean and well maintained national park facility.

One electronic interactive made a sort of game out of the process of lockage... a real hit!

Positives: interesting history on the E and O Canal and its impact on the development of Ohio (and the U.S. for that matter). You can access the towpath just outside the museum. Negatives: Building that houses the exhibits is cool but could be problematic for some. Beware of the uneven flooring when transitioning rooms. It is a bit of a drive from the center of th r park and majority of attractions.

As a narrow boat aficionado it was so very cool to see America's version of canal travel. I am so glad it was preserved and not turned into a Walmart parking lot (yet). We will have to return again when the museum is open.

Cuyahoga Valley Ohio and Erie Canal Exploration Center houses incredible displays and exhibits on the Canal. They explain about an era gone by where transportation of goods were made on the international waterways. Boats were pulled along a four foot deep Canal that was hand dug and took about seven years to complete all section for 308 miles. America was once powered by animals, not by machines. The visitor center is in a previous tavern and store for travelers on the Canal and just outside is lock 38 and spillway.
