Duane was fantastic! Exactly what we were hoping for. Low key with great information without the dramatic “flare”. Appreciated the very personalized non scripted tour of areas that were important to him during his 34 years living here.

It was like having a friend pick you up at the port and take you to all his favorite spots. Great conversation, great coffee, great sites.

The weather was a perfect 48 degrees with no rain and the sun came out to say hello. We give Duane credit for that too. lol.

Our bear tour was cancelled by Alaska Shore excursions at the last minute, but Captain Keith from Alaska Hummer Adventures arranged another tour for us to see bears! We did an awesome tour with guide Jaime. First we booked for two hours, but we extended to four because we liked it so much. Jaime took us to the bear viewing at Herring Cove and waited patiently with us to see the bears. We visited a waterfall and visited the other side of the island, where we went into the rain forest and visited the beach. He was a great driver, very informative and a nice guy to be around. Thanks Jaime for this great tour, and thanks to Alaska Hummer Adventures for helping us out and being so flexible!

This was a great personal tour. Duane, our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, took us to Lunch Creek Trail, Totem Bight State Historical Park, and Beaver Falls. He also took us for a tour of downtown Ketchikan. We stopped by the Green Coffee Bean Company for a great cup of coffee from a very friendly server. Duane had many good stories and historical info along the entire tour. We got to see a mama bear and her three cubs, an eagle, deer, and seals. He gave us a good tip on where to have lunch, Alaska Fish House. We had him drop us off downtown at the end of our tour and we stopped at the Alaska Fish House House for a great lunch. This was one of the best tours that we have ever been on.

My mother and I had a wonderful tour of Ketchikan with Alaska Hummer Adventures our capable, fun loving, guide Debby. She listened carefully to our list of what we wanted to see and do. She also made suggestions of available options within our requests that turned out to be a spot on read of our sight seeing goals and physical ability. We shopped, saw the town, eagles, totem poles, native lodges, beautiful views, even a black bear and her two cubs. We were comfortable the entire time and enjoyed ourselves completely. Thank you Debby for our wonderful day!

Took this tour on Friday, October 14, 2022 with five people one being in a wheelchair one being in a car seat I booked it on my own not on Norwegian cruise lines website. Our driver was Shannon, who picked us up on time actually a little bit earlier than on time of 8 AM and she took us to some amazing places on both sides of the island she showed us things we would have never seen on our own things that only the locals knew she was very informative. She took us where we want it as well, which which some shopping places and we got to see so much of the island in a four hour span she had us back on time at the dock, so we can make the ship and we were just so happy with this excursion the car was clean and beautiful. Thank you so much for an awesome experience in ketchican one that we will never forget

We cruised in on the Norwegian Bliss the first week of July with no plans for the port of Ketchikan. Walked in to the Alaska Hummer Adventures and was able to book a 12 passenger van for our 8 person group. Got an amazing personalized 4 hour (plus) tour with stops at 3 totem pole parks that was included in the reasonable price. Stopped at a secluded beach where we saw star fish and crabs. Stopped at a waterfall and a little cove with 20 plus Bald Eagles waiting to catch salmon. Great time. Family loved it with kids 8 and 5. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Steven was amazing. Had water and snacks for us and provided history and background at all the stops. If your stopping in Ketchikan this is a must do.

We booked a private hummer tour with Alaska Hummer Adventures through Alaska Shore Excursions and it was the best excursion ever! Our ship, Ovation of the Seas, was docked at Ward Cove on August 14th, 2022 and our wonderful, informative, and hilarious tour guide, Shannon S, met us right where we got off the ship! Our goal was to see bears, eagles, totem poles, salmon, and the Tongass National Forest. She promised us we would see everything on the list — except for the bears. No guarantees there.

Our first stop was Herring Cove, where bears would be most likely to make an appearance. Unfortunately we saw a lot of salmon but no bears! From there, we went to a scenic water fall. Before leaving the area, she was kind enough to take us back to Herring Cove to see if any bears had arrived but unfortunately, nothing.

On our way to the next stop, we took a little detour so she could find us some Eagles, as she said she knew of a nest nearby. Sure enough, we saw one atop a tall tree and a few others nearby! It was such a treat to be on a tour led by a true local. She told us a lot of stories about growing up in Ketchikan and answered any questions we may have had about the 30 mile city!

We moved on to Totem Bight State Park where we got to see several totem poles, walk on the shoreline, and try wild huckleberries!

We then moved on to Tongass National Forrest where we took a short hike through the woods on Lunch Creek Trail. We ended up at a secluded beach with extremely low tide. Because the tide was so low, Shannon took us “out to sea” where we walked on the sand and rocks to look for washed up sea life. We found SEVERAL beautiful starfish ranging in size and color, crabs hiding under rocks, a lot of barnacles, a sea urchin, and a baby eel.

On the way back from the park, we drove through downtown and she showed us where the welcome to Ketchikan sign was. As requested, she dropped us off in town so we could explore on our own, but not before confirming where and how we could get the free shuttles back to ward cove.

I highly recommend Alaska Hummer Adventures to anyone visiting Ketchikan and if you’re lucky enough to get Shannon as your tour guide, I’m sure you will have an absolute blast!
