Jacksonville Museum of Military History is a great stop!! Convenient to Little Rock, and easy to get to!! This is a lot of history packed into an hour or two!! Ranging from Civil War up to current time. We really enjoyed the friendly folks who were helpful & knowledgeable. Of special note, Jack Meadows, resident expert on the Minute Man II was exceptional. His personal, first hand knowledge was & is extraordinary. Jack, “thanks for your service “ isn’t quite enough!!
Highly recommend this place for young & old.
Wish you had an old diesel electric sub in your backyard, but I understand, you are quite a ways inland!! Th’x so much

Spent a rainy day here with two 13 year olds who are interested in military and recently joined CAP. They were going from display to display saying to each other “wow look at this!” And naming of the planes and weapons from memory to each other. The volunteer, Ricky, was a true gentleman, and pointed out to us some of his favorite artifacts and had a great conversation with my husband.

The real treat was getting a personal tour of the Titan II display from Jack Meadows, who manned one of the sites. The boys were enthralled and asked lots of questions because he was genuine and told the story in a captivating way.

You can tell that the people who run this gem of a museum put their whole heart into it. The displays are well maintained and the vignettes are very well designed. I work in museums myself so I am aware of the effort it takes to design and install displays and get authentic artifacts to interpret the stories well.

For the cost ($3 for adults, $2 for seniors and military, $1 for students) you get top quality information. To get a couple of teen boys off of a computer screen for a few hours is priceless, especially when you see that they are engaged and learning something.

If I could I would give this a much higher rating than just 5 stars! Amazing outside view. Great fun for the entire family including children of all ages. Many of the displays are interactive and the kids can touch a lot of the things they see. This is so fun and cool because so many museums don't let you touch anything. This is a great value for money. The cost of admission is so low for what you get, $3 for adults, $2 for military families and seniors, and $1 for students and children. We met Jack Meadows, he is a retired Air Force veteran who worked on planes and the Titan II Missile. Jack was so happy to have us all visit, he was great with the kids and gave us a personal tour as well as his own personal history with the military. He can answer as many questions as you can ask. There is a beautiful display of dog tags from the Vietnam Veterans who were lost in service from the great state of Arkansas. There are various uniforms that you can try on, jump in a retired plane cockpit and imagine the bravery of the men who served! The gift shop is also fun and all purchases help support this wonderful museum. We expected to spend a couple of hours and instead spent the entire day exploring. We had to leave for lunch and come back to see all the rest. Please consider stopping by and supporting this wonderful museum which is located at the original administration building of the old Arkansas Ordnance Plant from World War II.

The museum stop was an important family event, MSGT Ed Eyring is part of a display in the museum. He served with honor, to many deployments to even count, a C130 flight engineer. Look for him. Everything on display is his gear that he carried every flight.

The museum is a special place. The artifacts on display cover the gamut of all our conflicts. The titan ICBM program holds an important part of the museum. Fascinating. Well worth a stop. Can’t say enough.

So many families have shared their equipment to make the museum wonderful.
