I live about 2 hrs from Crater of Diamonds. This was my second time to go. We didn't find one but, had so much fun trying. I couldn't believe how many cars in the parking lot were from all over the US. The parking lot was full and only 2 or 3 cars had Arkansas plates. Advice, wear clothes you don't care about. Bring a change of clothes and shoes if you have a long drive home. Also bring a picnic lunch if you plan to stay all day bc they have picnic tables that are in nice wooded areas and you can watch the wildlife (squirrels and crows) try and talk you out of your leftovers!!
Things to bring:
-Change of clothes/shoes
-Gloves for digging(the kimberlite is really rough)
-Snacks/picnic lunch/drinks (you can leave this in your car. You don't want to carry it all the way out to the dig site).
-Well mannered dogs are welcomed.

I love this place. People are friendly and everyone is there to find diamonds. Searching for diamonds is so much fun. You don't even have to bring equipment, they have plenty you can rent. I bought my own screens from the locals for $20.

Fun place to spend the day. Go early and beat the heat. Be prepared. You will get a bit dirty. You can buy everything you need in town like dirt sifters, wagons, shovels, buckets, etc. I would suggest two buckets. One for hauling dirt and another one for what you have sifted through. You can bring home up to a five gallon bucket of sifted dirt to look through closely. A big hat to shade you along with sunscreen lotion is highly suggested.

You are allowed to go in and return to your car. There are a lot of shaded picnic tables around the parking lot area. We went back to the car for a picnic lunch.

Watch the how-to video before heading out to the diamond field. It will help.

First, while not for everyone the experience the park offers can be fun and maybe make you rich. The park is well maintained and there is a water park for the summer.

I only visited the mineral park, so what's going on there. It's basically a three-tiered deep plowed field you dig in. Then you can sift through it dry or there is a wet pan area. There are rental tools or you can bring your own. The park has benches and a few picnic tables, so bring your own chairs, coolers, and tools to save money.

We're adults, so it was fun for an hour or two, but it got old quickly. We saw families with young kids having a blast. I recommend it and we'll come back and bring the grandkids. Spend a few dollars to dream about living the American dream.

Had a lot of fun! I love looking for treasure so this was right up my alley. Great way to spend the day. $15 to get in and $10 to rent a sifter and shovel. No one found diamonds while we were there but a few were found the day before.

Got a bag of cool rocks to take home - 10/10 would recommend this dirt casino.

My friend and I drove from Florida to Arkansas to visit the park in November of 2022.
We loved the experience of digging in the dirt and trudging through the fresh mud because it rained in the days before we went. Really brought the kid out in you. Found cool rocks.
Just simple plain fun.

I would suggest when visiting the crater to show up early or prepay for your visit, it's a very popular spot there will be a line to get in. Take your own tools, supplies, food and water. it gets a little pricey if you have to purchase or rent all of that. Be prepared to wait your turn at the sloths or find a spot down stream there isn't a lot of access to water to sift your finds. No I didn't find anything but I would absolutely recommend it for anyone with children over the age of 7 any younger and they may not enjoy the time there, and anyone that loves to see the amazing treasures this planet holds.
